Picking nits, but wording it as classical era would have probably eliminated the confusion. But by adding "who wasn't known for movies" it opened it up to modern day people.

OK, I'll defer to the consensus here, but my inclination is that this answer went against the spirit of the question, especially since I added other notes to more specifically qualify who would be considered a "classical" composer.
I really appreciate that you're doing this contest.

One could argue that expecting people to leave answers off the board that otherwise meet the specific requirements of the question because they violate "the spirit" of the question violates the spirit of Swampcrash...

Really, great job! Loving it! Thanks again!

Do I now need to go research to make sure Rick Springfield didn't write an oboe concerto somewhere along the line?
I'd allow it, he did put out an entire album of his Classical compositions.

Fine, I'll give it to him (see edited results in earlier post).

To meet the Swamp standard for clarification, the following are not eligible answers for this round's question:

-Barney
-Godzilla
-Dino from The Flintstones
-Denver the Last Dinosaur
-Characters from the '80s Dinosaucers cartoon
-Characters from the '90s Dinosaurs puppet series
-Members of the band T. Rex
-Members or the band Was (Not Was) or anyone else who appeared in the "Walk the Dinosaur" video
-Past or present Toronto Raptors players
-Old people with outdated social views

So Little Foot, Sharptooth, Ducky, and Petry are all cool?

Completely forgot about that. I debated going Ian Anderson, but had in my mind the answer required primarily known for classical. Avoided Cage for the same reason.

You got lucky, Sabo. I switched from Mussorgsky, but followed up by playing Scenes from an Exhibition. Love that piece.
Had you done that, I'd probably have driven to New Jersey to beat your ass.

Mussorgsky is my favorite composer. Hearing "A Night on Bald Mountain" is what got me interested in classical music in the first place.

Just curious, given his frequency in movies and popular inclinations, would George Gershwin have been considered a correct or incorrect answer? How about Aaron Copland?

Copland definitely yes. Gershwin is kind of borderline because of his crossover with popular/jazz, but is generally lumped under classical.

Goddammit, there goes my perfect streak. Fucking technicalities, and my answer not looking remotely like what I thought it looked like. And if it isn't a dinosaur, why does it's name end in "osaurus"? I should get a bonus for spelling it correctly. At least I think I did.

You gotta be shitting me. I thought about going Micropachycephalosaurus, but thought that was just showing off. I also thought one of you nerds might also go with it, because it is the longest dinosaur name. But dammit. (and yes, I have two boys. I read a lot of dino books to them.)
