FWIW, KD has multiple recent posts on that site promoting an interview with RJ Barrett.

In Kurt Vonnegut's Player Piano, universities field overtly professional football teams. Always thought that was prescient thinking.

Just about to post the KD to Brooklyn link. You snuck right in.

That team is going to be sick when KD gets better.

Obviously the signs were there for months that KD was going to head to NYC. But man is it humiliating for the Knicks to be so thoroughly surpassed by the Nets both on the court and as a destination for marquee free agents.

DeAndre Jordan is one of Durant’s best friends. That’s why they’re signing him. Certainly a worthwhile move if Durant can return to even 80% of his pre-injury self.

At this point it's not about Horford it's about finding a way not to have to run absolute scrubs out there. They need three bigs and probably have about 0.5 in Theis and Williams together. Realistically they should play the longish game here and give Hayward enough run to move him for next year. That and the Memphis pick should get it done.

Idea for NBA commissioner: fold the Knicks and Nets into one team with the Nets ownership and players and the Knicks’ home court, uniforms and history. Give Dolan a team in Vegas or London or wherever the fuck.

Redick may not have reached his full potential for his college pub, but he’s got another half-decade of being a sniper-for-hire, and that’s a damn good deal for both him and the teams that sign him.

By the way, reminder that the Knicks could have waited until June--i.e., after the Durant injury--to decide whether to unload their most valuable asset for Dennis Smith Jr.

There could be some offensive issues for the Sixers with essentially swapping Butler and Redick for Horford and Richardson. But they have the potential to be a ridiculously good defensive team. And the issue of getting killed with Embiid on the bench should be fixed now with the Horford addition. Also, Butler’s clearly not a guy you want around if he’s dissatisfied and he apparently made it clear he wanted to be in Miami.

They could be a playoff team next year at this rate. Holiday, Redick, Ingram, Zion and Favors is a solid starting 5. (sorry, Lavar)

Unless this is part of the Durant deal, I think it means goodbye Iguodala.

Did the Knicks really just empty out their roster for two maxes, then sign no maxes, but also sign deals with term preventing future maxes?

Pretty much. I’m also thinking about how they gave away Porzingis right around the time it was announced that Durant was moving his business to NYC, and specifically traded for KD’s buddy DeAndre Jordan in the Porzingis trade — only to have Jordan just follow KD to the Nets.

It’s also interesting that Iguodala was told earlier in the week he could be traded if KD left, and then went on The Breakfast Club and threw the Warriors under the bus for how they handle injuries. (He pointed out that he suffered a leg fracture in the 2028 WCF against the Rockets, but the team called it a “bruise.”)

I don’t really like the Russell trade for the Warriors as I don’t see his fit with Curry. It feels like desperation in the wake of Klay’s ACL tear in that they don’t want to punt their first season in the fancy new SF arena.

I absolutely LOVE that the Grizzlies get to be the facilitating team in 3-way deals. That future 1st for Iguadala may indeed be really good when it eventually conveys. And now they can either deal Iguadala on for more future assets or keep him and let him mentor Ja, Clarke and JJJ (if he is okay doing that). Otherwise could do him a solid and release him. In any event, another high value future asset. It is REALLY weird finally having one of the teams I root for with a competent management team in place.

Tobias’ father is also his agent and he made sure that the Shams Charania Tweet reporting the deal had his name, his agency’s name, and his agency’s website in it.

My initial gut reaction when I heard Butler to Heat was relief. Look at that potential Heat starting lineup and tell me they're a sure-fire playoff team.

At this point, the Lakers are totally fucked if they don't sign Kawhi. There are none of the 2-3 mid tier guys they could have gotten for the salary that Kawhi would take up, so now they run the risk of overpaying and hamstringing. Even if they get Kawhi they'd have to get a bunch of minimum salaries, which means bringing Rondo back and probably JR Smith in (I've decided against saying the C-word).
