Now I'm not saying that Arians isn't smart enough to know that he would have to change things up - of course he knows this. But how much success can you expect with a 70 year old coach implementing a brand new system?
Yeah, isn’t Arians’ system most successful when a big-armed QB like Roethlisberger or Palmer is launching the ball deep downfield? At least in the last several years, Brady’s game has been based around quick passes underneath.

Is it possible Tampa did this just to sell millions of ironic (incongruous) Brady jerseys for decades to come?

Fun stat - Jameis threw more pickoffs last year than Brady threw in the last 4 seasons.

Should probably have qualified my earlier post that the "source" for the Brady-to-Tampa news is Colin Cowherd and hasn't been confirmed by anyone reliable, so take with a massive grain of salt.

I still feel like some faux-dramatic last second reversal is very in play here, if not the entire plan.

According to Paul Lukas it's not a huge change from what they wore when they won the super bowl.

21 wins over the next four years for Chicago. Pace will get fired (as will Nagy) and the GM who comes after him will also end up fired after three seasons.

If you need something to watch NFL Game Pass is free until May 31st.
Starting today, the NFL will offer complimentary access to NFL Game Pass, providing fans the opportunity to relive incredible NFL games and moments from seasons past including Tom Brady's multiple Super Bowl victories with the New England Patriots, Peyton Manning's single-season record of 55 touchdown passes as a Denver Bronco in 2013, Odell Beckham Jr.'s impossible one-handed catch in 2014, and much more.

A digital product available across multiple platforms and devices, NFL Game Pass offers an extensive library of football programming for fans. This includes access to past regular and postseason NFL games, previous seasons of award-winning NFL Films series such as Hard Knocks and A Football Life, and exclusive NFL Game Pass Film Sessions with some of the league's star players and coaches.

Also starting today, NFL digital platforms will offer fans full game encores each day across NFL.com, the NFL app and NFL's official YouTube channel. These encores will feature signature wins from all 32 teams starting with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs leading a stunning 4th quarter comeback over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Featured games will be made available for viewing by Noon ET each day.

NFL Game Pass will be offered free of charge until May 31 to fans within the U.S., and starting Thursday until July 31 to fans outside the U.S. and Canada.

To sign up for their complimentary access to NFL Game Pass, fans just need to create an account on the web at NFL.com/GamePass, or via the NFL app across mobile and connected TV devices.

The Eagles just got one of the most underrated corners in the NFL for almost nothing, so at least there's one or two GMs that are not incompetent. Can't say that for Houston or Detroit though.

They will have to pay a hefty buyout, I think. Because, nobody is picking up that contract, and iirc, it was guaranteed.

Boy, was signing Flacco a stinker of a decision. And, most people not-named-Elway could have predicted it.

ETA: I see that the "Failed Physical" designation gets them off the hook and frees up a bunch of cap money. Yay.

Yeah same here. I know it's weird but I think they should put him on a plant-based diet and just hope that some of the arthritis is alleviated.

A broken cam is not a starting qb. If he really had the drive he would work great for three game stretch as a backup where he drains what's left of his body running through dbs but I can't imagine him having that drive or being content to wait his turn as a backup. Not sure he has a spot at all.

Cam needs the threat of the run. At absolute minimum has to have some roethlisberger in him. If not, the pocket passing isn't good enough. Didn't think that was an outlier belief.

That may have been a completely different Cam than exists, now.

Here is Cam's Passing-only DVOA and Rank among qualifying passers (100+ pass plays up to 2014, 200+ pass plays 2015 and later)

'11 => 0.8%, 16th
'12 => 2.0%, 15th
'13 => 1.7%, 19th (first year without Steve Smith)
'14 => (14.5%), 33rd
'15 => 7.6%, 12th
'16 => (13.0%), 28th
'17 => (6.9%), 21st
'18 => (1.4%), 23rd (decomposing shoulder)
'19 => (7.0%), not enough attempts to qualify by ranking

That really makes me sad, as I'm a huge fan of Cam. Keep in mind that DVOA (a) adjusts for opponents, meaning lighting up a crappy pass D like the Saints is discounted, and (b) doesn't separate the QB from his surrounding talent and play calls. Cam's passing alone (as a function of Carolina's passing) is really just ok.
