"Here's a Dumb One Pt. 37" doesn't have the same ring. I also assigned my mom to look for Duke's because the website said they sometimes ship to NY (but not NJ) and we've both long abandoned that. I should ask later and feign upset she forgot.

I'm not sure if you're kidding about the Duke's, but I got it delivered here once (Off Amazon, I think.) Dumb One Pt. 38 was me ordering it during an unseasonably warm spring a few years ago. Wait until December, moron!

I got a Duke's guy. It's recently started showing up on shelves here. PM me an address or something and I'll get some next time I hit the store.

The map appears to be showing one of the three dishes in each state that is ordered most frequently relative to its popularity in other states. I think?

Currently in awe of how much pizza you have to be eating to stand out as a state that eats a lot of pizza

I think someone already talked about the potentially poor condition of takeout/delivery fries but I bet delivery nachos are worse.

There is always a line outside our local Boba Tea place, so I guess that one checks out. Mostly teenagers.

What does that even mean? If it's unique to every state, wouldn;t that mean it can;t be #1 in another state.

And anyway - what the hell is Crab Rangoon?

Fake Chinese food.
wiki wrote: the dish was probably invented in the United States by Victor Bergeron, founder of Trader Vic's. A "Rangoon crab a la Jack" was mentioned as a dish at a Hawaiian-style party in 1952, but without further detail, and so may or may not be the same thing. There is additional evidence that Wayne Schmidt helped commercially develop the dish as a popular appetizer in the Mid-West in the early 1980s, along with the bacon wrapped pancake.

Though the history of Crab Rangoon is unclear, cream cheese—like other cheese—is essentially nonexistent in Southeast Asian and Chinese cuisine, so it is unlikely that the dish is actually of east or southeast Asian origin.

cerrano and I were just now texting about a great Greek place more or less on the border between our two towns. He tried it last night, I ordered a couple of weeks ago on the recommendation of his butcher-buddies. Really good! If you're homesick the next time you're driving to/from Boston I'll buy you lunch.

Ha. I have gotten Gyros once during all this, so maybe I am the one guy responsible for the whole map. That said we have four greek places in town (two are the same locally owned group) and this one is very close to the house, if a chain. It's fine.

NOT at all related to the Greek-ish place that used to be in the same location. The owners of the Union Pork Store across the street bestowing their seal of approval in a conversation with cerrano was enough to get me to try it.

My only experience with bubble tea ended a half hour later with intense diarrhea.

It should only be consumed by 14 year old girls.

ha

We have a place downtown that is usually pretty busy at the end of the school day (when there were school days), sharing space with a Korean fried chicken joint. Tea can sometimes upset my belly, but there are a couple of things on the menu I like.

As far as I can tell, that's mainly who drinks it - 14 year-old girls. And, they drink a lot of it. - Johnnie, what the fuck?

And, regarding gyros - guess what the wife and I got for takeout last night? Yep. It was really tasty.

Around here, most people pronounce it like "Heroes", (and if they are trying hard, trilling the "e".)
