Can't remember the full ending, but Bacon's partner's motivations make no sense unless she's some master manipulator too.

Think they should have gone all in on sweat on the actors in the third act here. It’s Florida in the (almost) summer.

Yeah, I don't remember any of this. Were Bacon and Dillon college buddies and put the whole thing together? I honestly don't even know or remember.

I think (perhaps not wrongly) that once Neve Campbell and Denise Richards were no longer in the movie, it wasn't necessary to pay attention any longer.

Serious question -- how does Sam Lombardo keep all of the crosses and double-crosses straight at any given time?

Even if they split the money three ways, a lot of Sam Lombardo's money is just going to end up sitting forever in a Cayman bank account.

Guessing most people didn't come to this movie to watch a mentally stimulating mystery, and could use the explanation.

Though it kind of helps me too, honestly.

Well, that was fun. Needed a couple more double-crosses at the end though. Would have been awesome if it ended up that the whole thing was put into motion by the DA.

Bacon gives a false accounting of the shooting when he's telling the story. Says she shoots him in the arm, then he shoots her twice, but that doesn't match the audio of the scene, which is two shots in quick succession, then pause before the final one. No witnesses, of course.

That was more nuts for having seen it and forgotten it. My wife (big Dillon fan) watched too and she didn’t remember it either, to point she wondered if we left the theater early.

I think the plan was legitimately him and the two ladies make off with the cash. Bacon was a tool to be used and they were going to kill him on the boat, anyway. Him killing Denise Richards wasn't part of Dillon's plan, but provides a very basic reason for killing him. After all, Neve Campbell wanted revenge on him before the movie starts so the "revenge for killing Dillon's love interest" is surface-level cover.

ETA: Campbell didn't want Richards to make it to the boat, though, as she would be outnumbered by her and Dillon even though the two women had some sort of romantic interest. I think Bacon killing her when he did was just good fortune for her.

If you take Lombardo at his word and he didn’t want Kelly killed, what exactly was the plan to deal with her then?

Right. Three people that cynical wouldn't accept an outcome in which more than two of them were alive.

Lombardo simply wanted Kelly, at least in the short-term. He could always figure out a way to get rid of her down the line, what with all the "boating accidents". I think Susie was presenting as bisexual created the possibility of the three existing in a cohesive manner, for a while, anyway.

I thought Bacon was supposed to help pin Susie's murder on Kelly, but went a bit rogue. If the plan was always for Kelly to join them in the Caribbean then keeping her out of the loop on Susie's "death" doesn't make a lot of sense.

We're obviously thinking too deeply about a plot that isn't really meant to be analyzed too closely, but I do think the writer probably was coked to the gills and just kept trying to throw in double-cross after double-cross at the end.

Almost. She was so damn good after that on Scrubs for a series of episodes that she should have considered moving to tv in my opinion.
