I mean the fucking guy couldn't stay awake to make sure his team got into the playoffs. That's fucked up.

His name is Tate Ellington. I met him when him and his crew came on base when they were filming The Brave. That show was cancelled after 1 season.

You think the 30 seconds that ran off the game clock for this act of sheer stupidity could have helped them at the end of the game?

From what I have seen, the current nomenclature is "THICC SIXX".

I have no clue what they were thinking. Did they think the punt team was going to draw the defence offside after they got the first down? Did they think the 49ers would be so confused that they'd have to blow a time out?

The mind boggles.

Along the same lines Captain Obvious is moonlighting as the burglar in the Simply Safe ads.
I do not believe this to be true. I don't think they look alike at all. Maybe it's the mask.

On the actors in commercials for multiple different companies/products and mustache beat, I'm convinced that Priceline ran back a series of commercials recently just because Dr Rick (sans stache) is in one of them.

the Cardinals did the same thing to the Cowboys after a fake punt two weeks ago and forced the Cowboys to take a timeout because they couldn't substitute any players since the Cardinals didn't. the Cowboys clearly thought they could catch the 49ers off guard -- who were clearly in punt safe and still gave up the fake punt -- and it backfired. it was a dumb move, but at the basic level I can understand not wanting to let them substitute.

The Cowboys’ lack of playoff success in the last quarter century is really remarkable. They’ve been a consistently talented team over the years with a lot of stars and a number of good regular seasons. But they haven’t been to the Conference Championship round in now the last 26 seasons. The only ones who’ve gone longer are the fuckup teams: Washington, Detroit, Cleveland (if you want to consider the two incarnations the same franchise), Cincy, and Miami. The Jags, Falcons, and Titans have three since that time. Panthers have four. Hell, the Jets have three.

They’ve also were the top seed in the conference twice, and went one-and-done both times. During those three titles in the 90s they were one of the top dynasties ever, but it’s been rough sailing for a generation now.

Greg Papa is really good. As you may or may not know, he was the radio broadcaster for the Raiders for many, many years, but did not go to Las Vegas with them. So, the 49ers picked him up, and he didn't even have to move.

I don't know who the commentator is on the Bengals radio broadcast, but he had me cracking up week 17 when I was driving back from New Mexico. His reactions to the Chase TDs that day were so great. Mostly just whoos and yeahs and oh boys.

It's Dave Lapham. Team legend. He's been exactly that way for 30+ years in the booth (he was on o-line for the team in the 70s and early 80s and started on the first super bowl team). He's genuinely beloved for that stuff by the fanbase. He's the best.

That's awesome. Seriously every 20 minutes during the score updates they would do a replay of one of those TDs that day and it got me every time. Probably 21 times during the 6.5 hours listening.

His son played baseball at Miami U while I was there. He would come to the baseball games (which were always sparsely attended at best) and be happy to sit and chat about anything...super nice guy.

As a neutral, I much prefer listening to announcers that are clearly rooting for one team. Listening to games on Sirius is the best, as you get the home team radio broadcast for every game. It adds so much color and excitement and I get a feel for the local flavor with their goofball catch phrase and local ads. National broadcasts are just more buttoned up and neutral. Romo showed a clear Dallas-centrism in his broadcast, but I like it. Romo was clearly watching through a Dallas fan lens, but he was balanced on his evaluation of penalties. If anything, he was overly critical of the Cowboys and Dak,
