Does he actually believe it, or just willing to say whatever gets him attention/votes? I’ve avoided learning about him after seeing some crazy conspiracy shit out of his mouth. Hoped he’d disappear before I needed to know about him.

I think you'll be disappointed for a while longer as he's the front runner of this group. He's direct and doesn't waffle. The part where the candidates were asked, if Trump is the nominee and he's indicted in a court of law, who would still support him? Vivek's hand shot straight up and then the crowd cheered and more hands hesitantly came up. Everyone else sounds hollow, programmed, and nervous. He's got nothing to lose, no record to defend. Christie's trying to attack Trump after supporting Trump and Vivek ripped him one.

I'd like to see Vivek against Trump and which liar buckles.

Vivek is either running for VP or hoping to step in if Trump somehow loses his base (I don't even think dying will dissuade them at this point). He proclaims Trump is the greatest President ever and perfect in every way. WTF, that is his entire platform, "I'm a younger Trump." If it comes down to Trump and Vivek, his only move is to run as VP.

Points for whom? The tech-bros in Silicon Valley aren't nearly a large enough segment of the GOP to get anyone elected outside of local levels in CA (maybe state level). IMO, the racist, tinfoil hat wearers who make up the majority of Trump's base are never going to turn out to vote for an Indian, and the Xtian nationalists would rather shit a brick than turn out to vote for a Hindu. The tinfoil hat that threads all of them will detect a fraud.

The tech-bros in Silicon Valley can’t get a Republican elected to dogcatcher around here. No Republican has won any significant race in the Bay Area in decades. And, Schwarzenegger is the only R that I can think of to win a statewide race this century.

R’s are strong in Orange County and San Diego and rural California, but that’s not where tech bros hold influence.

This. The Fourteenth Amendment was written with the Civil War in mind. A riot at the Capitol is not even remotely close to the same thing.

Trump isn't even being charged with insurrection in connection with January 6.

It's a false flag operation. Unless you are telling me Alex Jones isn't always right. Yeah, I wasn't referring to the specific situation in Colorado, but the fact that I am seeing this argument gain traction in my Twitter feed.

I don't even know why courts would have any say in who the Republican Party of Colorado lists on the ballots they issue to party members in an election where those party members choose delegates to send to the party's national convention.

I hard disagree with BH'sH. There are two ways the Dems lose in '24, and that's if (a) there's an economic crunch, or (b) Racist-ass GOP shenanigans prevent blacks from voting in swing states. Either of those are possible, but I even think (b) is getting harder for them (see the Fed District of Alabama throwing out the racist-ass, gerrymandered-as-fuck Congressional map for the second time, two of whom were Trump appointees).

These kind of electoral shenanigans will absolutely alienate the fragile centrist collation which has mostly hung with the Dems thru Trumpism and Dobbs blowback. I know a lot of these people. They hold their nose when they vote for Biden (and Whitmer) but they do vote for them because the Dems are seen as more small d democratic. Using law suits to removing names from a ballot - even if it’s someone they mostly loathe like Trump - is the best way to make sure they vote GOP in 2024.

Really? I think a small number of people even follow politics or any lawsuits. It may seem more in your circle of friends.

Something like this would not offset issues much bigger, like Abortion!

Let's also not forget that what Tuberville is doing right now is a direct shot at the military because they wouldn't go along with the insurrection.

So I don't think they can get the military on their side like they think they can, but it's a way of holding everything out in the event Trump 'wins' and he can 'pack the brass' or whatever and overturn military policies in the meantime.

Maybe I'm being wild, but am insurrection in 2028 with the military will be easier than one with a bunch of rednecks without guns.
