Picked it up on the same yard line and to the same end zone the last time a game here ended on a punt return.

Flashback to the last time I was optimistic about a Jets season. 1999, Vinny Testeverde rupturing his Achilles in the first game of the season. Rick Mirer is a good comparison to Zach Wilson, #2 pick and a complete bust.

So Salah gets his head coaching job with the Jets in January 2021, trades the former 3rd overall pick QB Sam Darnold (2018) to Carolina in April, then drafts QB Zach Wilson with the 2nd overall pick, whom he gives up on in January 2023 and trades for QB Aaron Rodgers, who is likely never going to suit up again for the Jets after just 4 snaps.

The NFL is a crazy place, but Salah deserves no sympathy for their QB situation, he and the front office fucked that all up on their own.

Also, technology has obviously moved on, but that field at Metlife stadium reminds of the carpet they used at the Astrodome in 1966.

I’ve been on the MetLife turf, I think it’s the opposite of the Astrodome. It’s the softest, squishiest turf I’ve ever felt, I think the problem is players spikes get stuck in the turf, which is why there are so many knee injuries.

As for the QBs, I always felt Darnold had the talent to succeed, but he had no weapons and a shitty o-line. Zach is an arrogant prick who doesn’t learn from his mistakes. I’m just hoping he’s been humbled and Rodgers teaches him this year and he listens.

I'm desperately grasping for some hope here. Zach Wilson has been truly awful and shown no signs of growth or improvement to date. I wish we kept Mike White.

Aw nice. Thank you for the heads-up.
Yeah, seeing your posts directly above reminded me that I wanted to mention it. Both episodes they have done thus far have clocked in at around 40 minutes.

I fell asleep with the game on in the fourth quarter, so my wife told me how exciting the end was before I got that far into catching up on Twitter. That was weird.

Guess Rodgers does not have natural immunity to torn Achilles.

Based on his contract with the Jets, the opportunity for a couple years of watching a much less mobile Rodgers getting smacked around a lot exists.

I really, really wish that Keegan-Michael Key 'NFL Script' commercial said they'd write out Rodgers in the first week instead of Mahomes.

As one who has drunk in Wisconsin, it would be hard to tell the difference!

Speaking of that, I had an old friend who hailed from Milwaukee, and belonged to a club out here for Wisconsin natives living in the Bay Area. The club had a beer-and-bratwurst tailgater one Saturday afternoon before a Brewers-A’s game. I tagged along, and I learned that day that Wisconsinites’ reputations for extreme alcohol and food consumption was well-earned.

Visited once, and it was Madison, but yes. Wisconsin goes big and the food menus look like they're actively trying to kill people.

Maybe the draft's consensus top safety will be a stud. I thought he'd be decent to good but not great. But I'm wrong a lot on safeties.

He was helped a bit by Jack Campbell refusing to tackle anybody.
