Dang, I doubled up on my draft bets yesterday. Travis Hunter to the Jags at +2000 did the heavy lifting.

It’s defensible in that surrounding Williams with weapons is a good idea. But best case scenario seems to be their rebuilt FA OL works out and they win a lot of shootouts.
I feel the way they have structured their contracts makes them completely reliant on Williams improving enough this season to lift the roster starting in 2026. Lots of good to very good players, but few stars (CB Jaylon Johnson has two Pro Bowls in his career and Montez Sweat one with Chicago, Joe Thuney has them elsewhere).

I feel like Ben Johnson actually has roster control as part of his contract, as their offseason has been much more purposeful than any previous one run by Ryan Poles, particularly on offense.

I'd like to once again revisit the weird belief that time value of money logic should apply to draft picks. It should not. The only person it applies to is a GM on the hot seat, not the franchise or the fans. Trading future 1sts under the logic they're worth less than present 1sts is closer to taking out a subprime loan.

But seriously, will Brian Daboll even still be employed by the Giants by the time Dart starts a game for them?

So I just now realized they took a UK player. I did not know that during this exchange.

I went to bed after the Texans trade, but I really like that kid from just watching the draft alone. He was so supportive of all the players drafted before him.

Green Bay draws only 205,000 fans though that’s not bad considering there’s like 5 hotels in Brown County.

He must’ve really shit the bed in those interviews.

Coincidentally, I saw Tyler Shough of Louisville play at Stanford in November. He was not impressive.

Teams will accept prima donna behavior at almost any position other than QB. Which makes some sense.

I think it’s telling that the Bears straddled the New Orleans pick, and were obviously in the mood to trade down, and nobody bit.

This kind of reminds me of the fall of Johnny Manziel in his draft.

Btw, Tyler Shough will be 26 in September. He had his first college snaps in 2018 with Oregon.

NFL hyping the schedule reveal (May 14) but they’ll start leaking games here and there bc they’re PR geniuses at 345 Park Avenue but I’d bet if I could that they’ll do Lions/Eagles as the Thursday night opener.

This coming season will be the fifth year in a row that the Eagles and Chiefs will play a game with significance.

That’s a nice touch with the Rams having their war room at the LAFD rescue headquarters, btw.
