It’s defensible in that surrounding Williams with weapons is a good idea. But best case scenario seems to be their rebuilt FA OL works out and they win a lot of shootouts.

I feel the way they have structured their contracts makes them completely reliant on Williams improving enough this season to lift the roster starting in 2026. Lots of good to very good players, but few stars (CB Jaylon Johnson has two Pro Bowls in his career and Montez Sweat one with Chicago, Joe Thuney has them elsewhere).

I feel like Ben Johnson actually has roster control as part of his contract, as their offseason has been much more purposeful than any previous one run by Ryan Poles, particularly on offense.

I'd like to once again revisit the weird belief that time value of money logic should apply to draft picks. It should not. The only person it applies to is a GM on the hot seat, not the franchise or the fans. Trading future 1sts under the logic they're worth less than present 1sts is closer to taking out a subprime loan.

I went to bed after the Texans trade, but I really like that kid from just watching the draft alone. He was so supportive of all the players drafted before him.

Coincidentally, I saw Tyler Shough of Louisville play at Stanford in November. He was not impressive.

Teams will accept prima donna behavior at almost any position other than QB. Which makes some sense.

NFL hyping the schedule reveal (May 14) but they’ll start leaking games here and there bc they’re PR geniuses at 345 Park Avenue but I’d bet if I could that they’ll do Lions/Eagles as the Thursday night opener.
