How many memes did that Owen Wilson film just launch?

The name plate on Shiner Jimmy's desk says Jimmy "Jimmy" Mauric.
Re: Commercials
I was torn on the revived Colonel Sanders pitching KFC. Kinda objected to the idea, but the spots are corny and cute. I didn't know until today that he is played by Darrell Hammond.
But they just introduced a new Colonel, and I am all in. 'Cause it is Norm McDonald.

Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Do you know that guy with the glasses and the beard that does those ads for Car Sense during Jeopardy? Fuck that guy.
Actually, I don't know if it's CarSense, but fuck that guy anyway.

I hate the 3 old women who sexually harass various men at the Volkswagen dealerships. Do you think for a second that any company could get away with that campaign using old men? Plus their voices are extremely annoying

I was about to call for air strikes against you for saying this, but realize that this is how I feel about Will Ferrell, who other people will defend just as rabidly.Sabo wrote:Am I the only person who thinks Norm McDonald is a hack? I've never found him to be funny.

Just noticed Ethan Embry, who played Rusty in Vegas Vacation, plays the dad/driver in the Infiniti Vacation themed commercial, (opposite Christie Brinkley as his wife). He looks old. And sort of photoshopped into the shot at the end of the commercial.

OK, the Luke McCown thing was funny. Really funny.

Yea, it really was. Normally I'd be watching the game on AFN so they legally aren't allowed to show commercials; however, this time I was watching a live feed via the interwebs. I haven't seen commercials in a real long time and that stood out amongst them all.BSF21 wrote:OK, the Luke McCown thing was funny. Really funny.

Nike made an awesome video for themselves and the University of Oregon. They recreated the toga party scene from Animal House with famous Oregon alumni.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: Commercials
Making it even better is that Animal House was shot on the University of Oregon.

I wonder what was Fan Duel's ad budget over the past month or so. Those commercials are on constantly.

Re: Commercials
Whats up with that increasingly aggressive FanDuel guy? You get the feeling if they kept rolling next up was "Yeah I'm only 5'6. And I did get rejected by Notre Dame. So what? Who the fuck are you to talk shit to me?"
Re: Commercials
Fine, alright, I'll bang some Dane chicks. How much is airfare to Copenhagen? Or, maybe a very specialized ad for my apartment on Danish Air BnB.

He's just as annoying in the Wet Hot American Summer Netflix Show. So maybe he comes by it honest.

Re: Commercials
So is car commercials clearly ripping off a band's sound without using their music a new thing? Someone did it to Real Estate about a half year ago and now there's a new Nissan commercial "inspired by" the Pixies. That's shit.
Re: Commercials
I've seen that commercial at least a dozen times and I still keep expecting "Where Is My Mind?" to ramp up only to be let down.mister d wrote:So is car commercials clearly ripping off a band's sound without using their music a new thing?
