What's kind of weird is that she's about a 6, whereas his wife is close to a 9.
Isn't that the way it normally goes?
It's weird if he's in anyway risking his career over her.
He's not risking his career over this. The company handbook only addresses situations where a manager would date one of his employees, and that isn't the case here.

Oh, and when I walked in the conference room after they left, I took a deep breath to see if I smelled anything unusual. I didnt.
But, he is likely risking his marriage. Which likely also means risking his economic, if not physical well-being.

If he's putting his thingie in her thingie in the office, he's probably risking his career.

Ugly sweater day here to day. I did my part and picked up something appropriate last week at a second hand shop. We all got together a bit ago, and took pictures, with voting to follow. The woman responsible for organizing this thing just brought our internal mail server to a temporary stand still by emailing out 24MB worth of photos to everyone in the company.

ETA: I came in tied for second and won $25 bucks. Yay.

I explained to one of our junior staff yesterday that investing heavily in collared sweaters was a risky move in that if he ever gets tired of them or they go out of style (are they in?) then a large part of his wardrobe will be unwearable, and that he should diversify to mitigate such risk. He's not speaking to me anymore.

Heavily would be more than two, correct? And does "collared" mean like a shawl cardigan or like a fake shirt underneath?

Shawl cardigan I guess would be the term, although I always assumed cardigans had to be button-up. These don't, so it's just like the collar, if that makes sense.

And it's like an every day thing. Except today!

This dude definitely spent last night ranting about his overly fashion conscious co-worker in the "Office Etiquette" thread over at the Lovewool messageboards.

PS, I'm wearing a button up cardigan today. No one other than my wife has ever complained about it.

Don't get me wrong, I like cardigans as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to build my whole wardrobe out of them.

Exactly why a multi-pronged approach should be taken.

Working from home most of the time, pajama bottoms never go out of style.

My three year old mocks me with "daddy wears a cardigan" then laughing. She can go to hell. Cardigans are great.

She is right to mock you. As for PDX's coworker, I can't even picture what this sweater looks like.

Yeah, I'd like to have one of those. But, only one.

He's got enough for every day of the week. And i don't recall him wearing them last year, so I think it was one of those "I just discovered these and I love them so I need a bunch" moves. Thus my warning to him.

I got one for Christmas and my wife had to tell me it was OK to leave the house. Comfy as hell though.

I want to believe your warning is due to experience and you had a dozen argyle sweaters in 2008 or something.

If only. It's more like BR/Jcrew professional-wear and Nordstrom pseudo-Affliction shit from 2005. Fortunately most was sellable to 2nd-hand stores.

Wow, such influence in the workplace.

You should make suggestions on what the girls should wear.

Fortunately the hot one here is Eastern European and already dresses in what would be considered inappropriate in most offices.

My wife had a doctor's appointment on New Year's Day and the receptionist is eastern European. She was still in her cocktail dress from the night before, and apparently looked like she had been rode hard and put up wet.

I actually brought one to work yesterday (it was a zip-collar one though. Closest I have.) and was going to put it on and tell him it was for solidarity, but it was too hot in our office. Maybe tomorrow.
