He posts as 'Howardski Howarvinovich Smirrnov'.

Any interest in a 2015 Swamp Stock Contest?

Pick a US exchange listed stock that you think can appreciate the most (excluding dividends) in 2015.

No entry fee, all for fun, but I will send a prize to best and worst performing picks.

Do we have enough interest to get this rolling?

Awesome! We can use Friday's closing price as the baseline, and start on Monday.

Any other folks interested? If so, I will start a new thread...

I say start a new thread. Any maybe let's up the ante...give everyone $20k to spend as they see fit, and you can make, say, one trade a month. Still places an emphasis on long game, but gives you a chance to "rebuy" as it were. Google spreadsheet can help out with that and I'd be happy to participate.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.

I'd be down with that. There's gotta be a website that you can build a fake portfolio with, right?

Even better idea. Looks like there are a lot of options. I'll vet a few and see what the best option might be. We want something free, of course.

It deeply disturbs me to see this thread updated without posts from Howard. Anyone talk to him lately? Wish you proposed this game 8 months ago. My company rocketed up since the IPO, but seems to have leveled off. Beyond that, I know nothing.

Browsing this thread, it is amazing how little attention I pay to markets and economics these days. But this cracked me the fuck up. Good thing his wife's family is so wealthy (how did they get so wealthy?)

Yeah, I bumped this. This is a crazy long read, but...canary, coal mine. Worth the time, if you can:
