It was Game 5 that was shocking, the Rangers couldn't score at all and were in disarray. Would have bet my house the Pens wrap it up in 5.

They fired 35 shots in Game 5 and came out like gangbusters in Game 6. Pens losing Game 5 5-1 was ridiculous.
Game 7 was always going to be defensive.

Maybe St. Louis' dad will die and inspire them to beat MTL/BOS.

There is no overstating the value of a hot goalie in the playoffs. If Lundquist keeps it up - who knows?

Having a shutdown pair and a 2nd pair that rivals a lot of teams top pair, atleast in their own zone, doesn't hurt either.

Regardless, I'd much much much rather face Montreal. Boston showed they can beat the hell out of us last year and I don't trust two of our well paid three forwards to not shrink against them again. Montreal is a pretty similar style and would be a fun series to watch. Plus I could stomach a Montreal loss so much easier, still love Prust, Pac is great and Subban might be the most fun player to watch right now.

Well, if Lucic is like many Bruins fans, he probably called Subban the n-word.

I took it more as trying to fuck with Lucic by making him a post-game story as well. I don't think Weise is really scared for his life or anything like that.

It was so clear that the line stopped and Lucic said somethnig to Weise so when reporters asked Weise about it, he answered that way.

Even if Weise said nothing, networks like TSN were already all over it, slowing it down to lipread.

The backlash against Weise for not simply covering for Lucic is goofy. "How dare you, you 4th liner!"

I've only read the quotes. Did Weise say it in an offhand "oh yeah, he threatened me" (which is technically what he did, threatened to fuck him up next season) or did he say it shivering in fear, like perhaps how Lucic's girlfriend would have after he beat her in the North End a couple years ago?

The roster really isn't that great outside of the very top.

Eh. This is one of those "I get why they're making a change, but there's more downside than upside" moves. Basically how I thought the Torts firing was last year but we lucked out that Vancouver was cool with a trade.
