My wife hates to see me eat wings out in the wild. I go one handed (left), and the whole wing goes in the mouth. If you get sauce on your face, who cares, you clean up with your clean beer hand (right) when you are done. I basically decide that the left and my face can get dirty, and that way I keep everything else clean. Much easier to clean up at the end too.
This is how to eat wings.
Flats are superior and the correct way to eat is crack the joint then bring it all in like a corn dog bite. Drummies are fine but too much waste at the south end.

I have the ability to scrape all the meat off a flat as I pull it out of my mouth and between my teeth.

It's efficient, but not something I do on a date night.

I'm not an overly neat or fastidious person. But I really don't like to wear my food.

I love ribs, but if they are super wet, I just can't do it. Same with wings. I'm a big fan of dry rub (around here, good stuff is Old Bay-centric rub). But if it's all gummy and sticky... pass.

This also plays out eating crabs. After about 3, maybe 4, the gunk and innards and all of that.. I've gone through 15 napkins and I just get kind of tired of the process.

This is me too. I rarely order any of those -- wings, ribs, crab -- even though I like them all well enough just because I don't like to feel like my fingers and face and everything is all gross (and yes, I constantly wipe but after awhile it the pile of greasy napkins on the table ends up grossing me out even more.

Love wings, but I know what you mean. I spent a lot of time with both sets of Grandparents when i was a kid, and one of my Grandmothers was such a stickler for table manners and etiquette that she actually used a knife and fork to eat ribs.

I do the same and do a courtesy apology to the wife if we're eating together.

I have to say, Wingstop makes some pretty tasty wings. At least the one closest to our house does.

The lemon pepper dry rub there is great on wings and fries. There's one in the casino by the house and if I'm gambling and picking up something to eat at home, always get that.

They're doing mashups of their flavors this month and last night I had the lemon garlic and the atomic Korean bbq. I think their fries are the best fast food ones, I'll have to try with the lemon pepper.

Coincidentally I grilled ribs at home the other day. They were glorious. Each table setting got a wet washcloth in addition to a cloth napkin. Lots of delicious sauce. Maybe it’s different in public at a restaurant, but at home, if you don’t eat it with your hands, I gotta think you are a bit of a prig.

I don't think I would ever order ribs in a restaurant where people would look at me funny for eating ribs with my hands.

The grapefruit White Claw isn't bad. I'm not going to stop drinking beer any time soon, but those hard seltzers are nice sometimes if you don't want a beer and you don't want something sweet. (Wine also works in these situations as well, but it doesn't always make sense to open a bottle of wine either).

We've mixed in the White Claws into the rotation. Very nice in terms of a refreshing drink on a hot day. I can only do one, though, as it starts to get cloying to me.

Do y'all have Mighty Swell? They have a watermelon mint sparkling water that's outstanding. I'm big into ciders, so these help satisfy the sweet craving while not making my gut much bigger.

Seems I saw a tweet meme about this earlier this week. It's good? Haven't been to Popeye's in years. Joe House raves about their red beans and rice.

How old is your son? Curious at what age kids today become aware. A good percentage of my gay friends and acquaintances my age and older say they were clueless until college or after. I just heard Megan Rapinoe saying she wished someone pointed out the obvious to her, because she didn't realize for a long time. I would think, and hope, kids today are so much more aware of different sexuality, that they realize what they are is an option, and aren't confused about their feelings.

He'll be 12 soon. We suspected he might be bi or gay for years, but in the last year or two he's started talking about it openly. I'd like to think that both the outside world, and our home, made him feel comfortable enough to come out. (I say "come out", but that's not really accurate if the definition of that phrase is that you are gay).

And yes, he definitely lacks commitment (to his ideals anyway).

When my daughter was 12 she told us she was bisexual. Four years later she decided she had just been unsure and confused at the time. Now solidly heterosexual.

So, sometimes it really is just a phase.

Awesome that he is comfortable enough to talk to you about it. My daughter was boy crazy at 3, so no mystery with her. Fortunately, that remains innocent, and she became too embarrassed to Iet on to boys her age that she has a crush. 20 something yo British or Dutch soccer coaches, she makes it pretty clear. She tells us who she has crushes on, which is cool, I never would have talked to my parents about girls. I guess she could add girls to the mix, but I don't see it. My son is 13, and shows no interest at all. Any mention of who he has a crush on, and he gets super embarrassed and awkward.

Our 13 year olds sound similar. Shows no interest in anyone romantically, and wants to speak to his dad about girls, sex, etc., just about as much as I wanted to talk with my dad about it.

Meanwhile, the 5 year old runs around the house wanting to wrestle anyone who crosses his path.

Had a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and the McDonald's international menu chicken sandwich yesterday. The Chick-fil-A was better, but not by much.

I'll have to so by Popeye's though if that is the Kingslayer. It's already my favorite fried chicken (fuck right off Church's, KFC, and Bojangles) so I'm looking forward to it.

Had the Popeye's sando tonight. Quite good, and fucking huge. The chicken in the spicy and regular is the same, it's the mayo that is either regular or spicy. And yes, the red beans and rice was the shit too.

It’s a huge piece of that Popeyes chicken (breading is the same) on a really good roll with the spicy mayo and pickles. Simple but great. Appreciate they didn’t mess with the chicken recipe but somehow figured out how to cook a huge piece of chicken and have it taste like Popeyes.

In a semi-related story only thing that sucked about not driving to Phoenix this weekend was no outing to Whataburger.
