Positive case in a student at our HS. Apparently they’ve already recovered, but it was just announced this afternoon.

Quarantined. Deployed. Same unusual strength.

It's going to be a nightmare. So many idiots down here. No leadership.

First celeb death I have read about (past president of Real Madrid). Still does not feel too real because I don't know anyone impacted. However it keeps getting closer. My neighbor (whose kids are great friends of mine) is a marine. He was in contact with someone confirmed. My work has had two incidents but neither are confirmed. They are treating them as presumptive.

Maybe we would have been better off if Tom Hanks had gotten it and died right away. People might be taking it a bit more seriously. (And believe me I don't want anything to happen to Tom Hanks).

This is gonna be like AIDS but on a more accelerated scale. Republican administration sitting on its hands because it doesn't affect them and the people won't care until a couple of celebrities die, but by then it will be too late and cost millions more lives worldwide.

In those people's defense, going out in nature has been a recommendation. On the other hand, Arizona is a big fucking state, so it shouldn't be difficult to find uncrowded natural places.

That's why we aren't taking advantage of the downtime to go to the desert. With nowhere else to go, I figure those places will be swamped.

Again, it just makes me angrier.

You know fuck'em. Let them all die. I'm taking every precaution right now and I'm not wandering around like this losers. I have to go into the office M-W-F every week indefinitely because my company is run by out of touch morons. My wife has to work almost every day at Walmart but she taking pride in that. Other than that, we are going nowhere, not even seeing my parents. My mom and I Facebook Messenger every night.

If everything goes to crap, I would still be working my real job from home probably plus I have a side online job that keeps going. And my wife would be home and out of danger. I have the finances to last at least a couple of years so I'll just outlast them all.

Arizona and New Mexico both have A LOT of space and are incredible for hiking and scenic areas. They also have accessible areas where a short drive is the middle of nowhere.

When I've gone hiking in both states I'll pass some people every now and again, but only experienced crowding in the place where it was paved, "cool to hike," and owned by the U of A. (Tumamoc Hill, which is closed because of COVID 19 according to the website. https://tumamoc.arizona.edu/)

So seeing that photo is fucking ridiculous. Those are the same types of people that get the chance to go to Europe and decide to eat at Burger King or McDonald's.

Ooh boy. What a dummy.

Army employee fired for insensitive post about coronavirus outbreak

Tammy Duckworth screenshot and tweeted it. It was quickly taken down after that.

My answer to the question would've been "He wanted to become the 'Batman,' but was confused."

But not for nothing, that dumb answer to that dumb question does not inherently involve race, so calling it racist is bullshit. Bill Maher had Andrew Zimmern on his show last week and did so because that was the rumor "and who better to have on my show than a guy who eats weird shit." What Donald Trump is doing is racist, hammer that. So good job equating the two. This is why people roll their eyes at liberals.

I was reading up on the 1957 Asian Flu.

H2N2 from April 1957 to February 1958. Nothing was closed and there was no social distancing. End result was 70000 dead in the US and 1 million worldwide

It took a year to create a vaccine. Unfortunately I think this is what we are in for.

Wow. Sounds like the NYC area is getting absolutely hammered with cases right now, well beyond the official numbers. Scary stuff considering that’s it’s both the most populous and densest city in America.

Classic quote from Cuomo. Paraphrasing.
I saw people playing basketball. There's no concept of social distancing while playing basketball. There's no way to stay 6ft away from someone playing basketball. Well, you can, but then you're a horrible basketball player and you're going to lose

Statistically given the average age of the Senate and the expectation of infection, this should kill at least one Senator.

Mitt Romney now self-quarantining because he was closely working with Rand Paul over the past few days.

Not sure of the count, but GOP may not have enough votes to pass McConnell's bill.

Schumer is 100% going to sit one Dem for every one Republican who can’t vote to be fair.
