Naw, the protesters are all Soros paid actors. That cracks me up when I hear it. Like they could pay 10s of thousands of people and not have it come out.P.D.X. wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 2:17 pm The town hall events are proof that the reckoning has legs already.

Like Fox viewers have seen one second of footage of those events and protests. They were too busy showing a few white men protesting how DEI hires at Harvard caused Easter egg prices to increase which is more evidence of the left's war on Christianity. The Sybian wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 4:40 pmNaw, the protesters are all Soros paid actors. There’s also this sort of shit where non-Fox is weirdly trying to balance things out. Lots of examples in the comments and quote-tweets of events with far greater than 200 participants than NYT hasn’t chosen to cover.

Re: We Doing This Shit Again? (Trump Admin Meltdown II)
Alito issued his dissent last night to the S Ct order stopping the El Salvador flights. He basically argued that the order was procedurally improper and rushed for several reasons, including that there was no evidence of an imminent threat of deportation because the govt said no flights were planned for a few days.
In his procedural arguments, Alito was basically right. But the fact that 7 justices issued their order anyway, because they didn’t trust the administration, is remarkable.

Trucking industry is about to start getting it due to the tariffs.Nonlinear FC wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 1:45 pmYep, I keep saying it... Segments of it will. Fortunately my company should mostly be spared since we don’t mess with the ports or any international routes.DSafetyGuy wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:22 pmTrucking industry is about to start getting it due to the tariffs.Nonlinear FC wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 1:45 pmYep, I keep saying it... Even if it’s not directly from the ports, any decrease in international trade will affect trucking volumes. Particularly out of big logistics warehouses.brian wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 1:41 pmSegments of it will. Re: We Doing This Shit Again? (Trump Admin Meltdown II)
No doubt. But we’re a little more immune than some companies. We tend to run more in the middle of the country than the ports/coasts. But the whole industry will take it in the shorts to some extent. And honestly anything that lowers the already low shipping rates will sting as well.sancarlos wrote: Sun Apr 20, 2025 4:33 pmEven if it’s not directly from the ports, any decrease in international trade will affect trucking volumes. The hearing is happening now on the validity of the executive order targeting Perkins Coie.
It's going about as well for the government as one would expect.

It's a big deal. It's all a big deal. The judiciary can thank Roberts for this. I assume this is what he wanted.

Pretty sure TFG just flew over. They were scheduled to fly back to Newark and head to Bedminster, and three official looking helicopters flew over a bit ago. If it was him they’re a bit ahead of official schedule.

Doing a quick google search for that guy in the NYC area, either he’s a high-level comic book dealer/broker, or the manager of Rutgers’ women’s hoops.DaveInSeattle wrote: Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:49 pmPretty on the nose...The Sybian wrote: Sat Apr 26, 2025 2:48 pmSo according to that Trump voter, they should have let him in and fuck everybody else.L-Jam3 wrote: Sat Apr 26, 2025 2:31 pm Blaming the Italians? Re: We Doing This Shit Again? (Trump Admin Meltdown II)
I was talking to a friend who is a supervisor of inspectors at CBP. He said the Agency is an absolute disaster right now. Because of all the people fired/leaving, he is essentially working two full time jobs, and with all the changes in tariff rules, he said they are in a complete panic trying to figure shit out. I asked if it's a good time to start my international drug cartel and he said absolutely, they are so focused on tariffs and understaffed, never been a better time to smuggle drugs. Do with that info what you will.
Now that I think about it, if all the ports are empty, maybe Customs can get back on top of managing their workload...

Re: We Doing This Shit Again? (Trump Admin Meltdown II)
I'm not sure I believe Amazon was ever going to list tariff prices. I think there was a rumor and because this administration is run by a bunch of fucking hot-headed morons, they jumped the gun and started proactively latching on to this so they could, once again, get everyone distracted.
The posts about what's happening at the ports is news the Moron Brigade doesn't want in the national news cycle today.

It makes business sense to suspend placing tariff info on its site, as pissing off the head of the executive branch who can sic antitrust enforcement against them is bad for the bottom line. It's just disheartening knowing that TFG has proven time and time again that deep-down, he's a pussy, and if you stand up to him he folds like 90% of bullies.
