I tired The Leftovers. Very cool, different, I dig it, four episodes in. Holy Wayne is awesome.
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Watched the first episode of "Jessica Jones" last night. Very well done. Nice intro to the series and that final scene. Ugh, so well done.

Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.

Well shit. I had no idea that the episodes dropped. Going to have to add this to the queue along with Master of None and Fargo.DaveInSeattle wrote:Tried watching "Man In The High Castle"....didn't work for me. Bailed out after 45 minutes...
I enjoyed the first episode when I saw it way back when. Sucks you couldn't get into it.

Blood and Oil is great bad television. I hope it's not canceled before something crazy happens to everyone.

I've watched the first one. I'm admittedly a Marvel fan but I knew nothing of the JJ story line. You wouldn't know she even has a power until 40 minutes into the first ep. Give it a shot.Ryan wrote:Is Jessica Jones OK for two grownups who don't care about any superhero universes one bit?

From what I hear, it's way more rated R-sy than most Marvel shit.Ryan wrote:Is Jessica Jones OK for two grownups who don't care about any superhero universes one bit?

Something that always gets me, and this isn't a spoiler but is said in the first episode, they never call superheroes "mutants" in the Marvelverse. Apparently it's because "mutant" is strictly something from The X-Men, but when they split the rights out, Fox Studios bought the rights to X-Men. I can't remember what the guy calls Jessica, but it's a flavor of it, but not quite the word "mutant" so they don't get the shit sued out of them.
At the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, there's a short scene with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, who are both children of Magneto in Marvel canon, and the teaser refers to them as "miracles" because they still couldn't use the term "mutant".
That's it for this episode of "Fun with Copyright Law".

Anybody watching (watched) Red Oaks on Amazon? I've watched most of it. It's a good, but not quite great show. Paul Reiser carries the show the rich asshole club president.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: Temporary Television
The wife and I watched it. Same sentiments as you. Starting on Catastrophe. About five or six episodes in. Not too bad. Also starting United States of Tara. So far so good.Shirley wrote:Anybody watching (watched) Red Oaks on Amazon? I've watched most of it. It's a good, but not quite great show. Re: Temporary Television
I liked Catastrophe. Had a minor issue with the last episode, but I'm happy that there is apparently a season 2 (airing now in the UK, I think).

It's dark, man. That first episode shook me a bit, and I'm generally not all that sensitive.

Finally finishing up Kimmy Schmidt, and it's not unreasonable to think that Erin from the Office had an amnesia event and became Jenna Maroney's nanny after Jenna found her a sugar daddy and retired.

Into The Badlands does for martial arts tv what The Walking Dead does for survivor horror tv. You can probably take that positively or negatively.

I tend to watch stuff my wife likes, until I can't deal with it anymore. I stopped watching Scandal for awhile, because it was getting to be too much. I'm back in, but feel myself losing touch with it again.
Anyways, I was into Blood & Oil until I heard they were canceling it. Decent cast and and interesting story. I mean, not different or new, but interesting.
