Apparently I'm now going with my buddy to LA in two weeks for a watch party in West Hollywood and staying on the beach at a place called The Georgian in Santa Monica. My life can be very weird. A Kentucky 5 is what, a LA -8? I'm gonna need a new wardrobe.
So when you were here in NJ last summer my wife and youngest were in SM staying with a friend of my wife's. She lives a block or two from the pier and she and her on-again-off-again BF would totally show you guys around. Almost certainly totally.
That's a cool offer I will keep in mind. I just got details last night, so I have no idea what the full plan is. Watch party is friday the 3rd at the Phoenix bar, which I think has been rented out for the night. The bare minimum of details I have other than that is there are plans to hit a dispensary and also to go gun shopping.
Though, that seems like more of a Mendocino County plan than a West Hollywood plan.
Wait, I have to cross the road to get to the beach? I'm out. What am I, a hobo?
Everclear was full of it huh?
We can live beside the ocean
Leave the fire behind
Swim out past the breakers
Watch the world die

Bay Cities Italian Deli would be the most likely recommendation and is within walking distance of your hotel.

This thread has me cracking up. I can't wait to hear AB's tales from the parties. I'm sure there will be lots of characters there. The hotel looks incredible! I was curious and looked at the rates, cheapest room was $875/night.

There's a really old school bar-seafood place at the land end of the pier called The Lobster.
Don't know what the food is like, but the bar is really great.

Well, my buddy already had it booked so told me I can crash for free. I'll buy him a dinner or something. So I'm just paying for flight and my own expenses. His brother did know someone at the hotel, so I suspect he isn't paying full price.

So my main golfing buddy here has a brother who is on this show that starts in March:
He's at the 12-second mark. Apparently I'm now going with my buddy to LA in two weeks for a watch party in West Hollywood and staying on the beach at a place called The Georgian in Santa Monica. My life can be very weird. A Kentucky 5 is what, a LA -8? I'm gonna need a new wardrobe.

But, is she a 5 in Kentucky?

Look asshole she’s one of my wife’s best friends. They’ve know each other since grade school. I’ve know her for over 25 years.
(she’s always been cute and she’s a single woman in her late 40s who likes to party like she’s at least 15 years younger and she lives a block from one of the biggest show off beaches in the country so yeah she’s doing ok)

Well she never used to acknowledge turning 30 but I think she’s past that so…. A single 33 year old?
That's known as Santa Monica single. Plus, it'd be rude to Mrs. Rass not to fuck her friend.

I just got an email from Netflix that apparently I’ve had The Magnificent Seven (60s version) out on DVD for over 9 years. I must’ve misplaced it in between moves.

That's a really good point. C'mon AB, don't be an asshole.

I'm kinda digging this Murdaugh Mystery documentary because this family at the center of it is just so mustache-twirlingly evil.

It was nuts how much of it had nothing to do (directly) with the trial that ended last week.

That doc is crazy. The son that got shot was a POS.
It made the trial "meh" for me. Karma is a bitch... on steroids.

Sure the kid was a POS, but he also never had much of a chance to be anything else (growing up I mean, not the fact that he was killed when he was 20 or whatever).
Absolutely. But others grew up in that family and didn't turn into psychopaths. He was pretty involved in covering up what sure sounded like the murder of the family caretaker. And he absolutely tried to frame his "best friend" for killing his girlfriend. There are assholes and there are people that are straight up evil.

He was a 16 or 17 year old at the time! Absolutely a POS but what do you expect a kid to do when his dad and grandpa and uncles and their clean-up crews get involved?
But I was high as a kite when we watched the entire series on Friday so maybe I was feeling too forgiving toward him. Was there insinuation that he was directly involved in
