Bettis was the only one I recognized. I thought the guy in the middle was Lamar jackson at first.

The fact that I have no idea what that is referencing is making me feel old.

That, and turning 59 today. Sources say that's only one year less than 60.
Three former NFL players (all Steelers at one time) who also all went to Notre Dame, posing with their sons who have all committed to play football at ND.

And happy birthday steve!
Am I missing something? Plaxico went to Michigan State.

Perfect article here, describes the owner’s political influence and even has a Plexico reference.

Recently returned from visiting my parents and it was sad to see them try to remember things and struggle to get their brains to recall things they’ve always known. One example - My mom fixed the meal for us that she made every year for my brother’s birthday (wienerschnitzel), and my dad asked her what we were eating. He didn’t remember having eaten it previously.

I make plenty of jokes around here about being the old guy, and I can take a joke about it from others, as well. But, dammit if last night playing trivia I didn’t feel like my old father a couple times. Sheesh.

My dad is 89 and my mom is 84. Frankly, I don't know how either of them are still going, but they are going, and living independently. My brother and I visit semi-frequently, as you might imagine.

My wife's parents are getting up there. Pops, in particular, is 92.

(My mom had me when she was 18, so she's still pretty young, relatively speaking.)

Went to my 30th HS reunion this weekend. What a bizarre experience, and seeing a couple elderly people vaguely resembling people I graduated with was odd. Only a few looked horribly old. 30 year reunion sounds like REALLY old people, but I don’t feel that old, and most of the attendees looked good and seemed young.

One attendee was pregnant senior year and posted a pic of her 30 year old son, which was jarring. Just disappointed that in a class of 300, only 22 showed up, and most were the least likely to show up. About 6 from my crew, who were mostly heavy drinkers uninvolved in school activities other than soccer. Several people everyone was asking “who is that?” They are in the yearbook, but nobody remembers them. Very odd they showed up, especially the guy who didn’t even talk when addressed, just stood too close on your side listening to you talk to someone else.

My 30th reunion was also sparsely attended. Most people apparently didn't even know about it. So, a few of those took the bull by the horns and worked really hard planning the 40th. They tried hard to locate everybody - in a class of about 300 - and attendance was much, much greater as a result.

And, if you think some people looked old at 48, a lot of them looked damned old at 58! But, the good news was that people seemed much more relaxed. People weren't trying to impress each other about their careers or relive their youthful glory years. It was nice that folks seemed to get over themselves. I spent a lot of time chatting with people I didn't even know in high school.

I've mostly felt older at a pretty linear rate and turning 40 didn't get me all that much but becoming "the parent of a teen" absolutely did. Suddenly, I am now the second oldest poster here.

Teenagers didn’t bother me, but driving lessons and dropping off at college hit hard. I feel like I’m in a different category when I meet people and I say I have a kid in college.

I leave stuff on the tv that I can half-pay attention to when I’m doing basic discovery, so today I’m watching last nights recording of the 50th annual American Music Awards. I’m had this thought conversation in my head:

“Hmm. 50 years? I didn’t realize the American Music Awards started in the 60s…

Wait… No, Len… It started in 1974. I.E. the year you were born.”
