So Chivas USA will go away and be replaced by a new LA team in 2 years. Somehow MLS managed to get $100 million for the new expansion team. This actually maybe Garber's most interesting investment. Chivas bought in for $10m, sold for $60m back to MLS, and now MLS shuts it down and sells and expansion team for $100m.
So DC United is playing Sporting KC tonight. Andy Gruenebaum is the Keeper for Sporting KC. Even with the nickname the Hebew Hammer the guy is working on Yom Kippur.
Some good entertainment going on in MLS right now between POR/VAN fighting for that last playoff spot and LA/SEA tied for the Supporters Shield. The latter play each other back-to-back starting next week to end the season as well.
So it is official Chivas de USA is no longer. Like the fact that they are not sure what will happen with the players as the union is still working on details of this and the expansion draft of NYFC and Orlando City
I read they will do a dispersal draft before the expansion draft happens. Between that and the addition of two teams, I don't know how the players union can complain too loudly. There will still be a net increase in MLS player positions.
Chivas was RSL's expansion partner. I'm glad to see we have done so much better.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

And two expansion teams to the east. It just may be Toronto's year!
Villa, Lampard, Ex-Galaxy man Josh Sanderson, and Staabek loaned Andrew Jacobson think NYFC won't be so bad and Kaka will help Orlando FC
You mean Josh Saunders? He's alright. Never really made an impact in MLS. (Had him for a season in Portland on loan from LA when we were still in USL.) I'd be very surprised if he's the starter.
DC made the worst to first using the "We don't want him any longer cause he is too expensive" drafts. Will be interesting if in year 3 or 4 of that if other teams figure out how overpaying for solid MLSers could be better value than going several DPs and a bunch of $20Kers.
Thought it was a legit call. His arm was away from his body, and even though it wasn't intentional, the contact gave him the advantage of being able to then play the ball.
Me 2. However based on twitter from some very well respected folks you would have thought Geiger (World cup official) blew it. It was clear Geiger was well positioned to make the call.
It was not intentional and he was trying to move his arm back.
Having said that, I can understand why on first glance the ref might have thought differently, but I always believed the unless it was clearly an intentional hand ball, no call should be made.
"beautiful, with an exotic-yet-familiar facial structure and an arresting gaze."
Bradley Wright-Phillips continued his great season putting KC on the golf course last night.
My picks for this round
Red Bulls current form carries them past DC United in a close series
New England is too good now with Charlie D, Jones, and Nguyen.
Seattle--Just too good for Dallas
Galaxy-- Keane does not let Landon's career end this round (but I see Seattle taking the next round)
New York might be Cinderella this year. They're not exceptional, but they're plucky and can score goals.
Seattle has to play the ugliest brand of soccer among the top teams. No style other than just go straight at goal every possession (by booting it to Martins or Yedlin.) Usually it works but when it doesn't, they look awful.

The GF and I have been complaining about that for months now. They ALWAYS try to connect little tick-tack passes up the middle of the field, and it rarely rarely works. We were at the Dallas game last night, and it was so damn frustrating. I was sitting there yelling "go up the wing and cross it! Its what every team in the world does!!!!".
They were lucky to get through last night...but Dallas was awful. So many unforced errors for them.

Yeah it was strange that Yedlin sat back the entire game. I could understand if Castillo was on his side, but he only had to face Akindele. Super-conservative move by Sigi.
Guess who now has the opportunity to pay $50 in order to secure a chance to buy Toronto FC season's tickets!
And guess who will not be doing so.
Seems as though Toronto FC burned through waiting list of 3,000 in just one year. Not a surprise, but hey! if I act now, I can get the season tickets at the same price as last year's tickets, as the team's owners - in the words of a local rag - "bite the bullet" as they pay for stadium expansion.
So nice of them.

Seattle up 2-0 in the first half against LA but the Galaxy are just an away goal away from advancing.
I think this will swing back and forth throughout the night as the game can no longer go to extra time.
Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..

That game blew....
