Yes I know. They are trying to make a connection between the two.

I don’t think anyone has to try to make a connection?

Well, color me shocked. Despite their horrible start to the season, in case you haven’t noticed, the Sharks have won 9 of their last 10, and they’d be in the playoffs if the season ended right now.

Tbh, they haven’t even looked that great, but have won a lot of close ones. Erik Karlsson has been super, and Marc-Edoard Vlasic has been really good in this stretch.

Treliving has spoken to both Peter's and Aliu. Says "this subject matter has no place in our organization" which all but confirms he's gone.

Games where your already struggling #1 goalie gets pulled probably aren’t good for the season long narrative put that was a fun result in Pittsburgh regardless.

Woo. Flames won with their interim coach!

Still waiting for a verdict on Peters. It probably legalities now. For you lawyers, can a company rightfully dismiss an employee for something that happened with a previous employer?

He’s in Montreal apparently so sounds like one of his parents. I fucking love MAF so much that he could take the rest of the season off. I just hope he’s OK and he gets to say his goodbyes.

I would like to thank Brian and the Knights for helping the Caps free up some cap space. GMGM gets Stephens, Caps get a draft pick. Probably a good trade for both teams.

VGK needed to do something to shake up their bottom six forwards, so this might do it.

Stephenson, just to be sure we're talking about the correct player.

/being a dick

Reading up on this, GMGM knows what he's getting, because he drafted Chandler back in 2012.

He's a solid 4th line guy. But given that the Caps have guys like Backstrom and Hagelin on the mend, and kind of a glut of decent to pretty good FWDS that are the same salary hit or lower...

Hynes fired in NJ today before game vs. VGK. News only just leaked about an hour ago from what I've seen but this was posted earlier, which has to lead to wondering if they somehow knew and if so, then just a legendary tweet. (Occam's Razor is that isn't what happened, but I'd like to think it's possible).

That would be pretty douchey but from the replies it looks like it’s a Jersey Shore reference which i guess is a different kind of douchey but if we’re being honest one that Vegas the tourist destination thrives on so wholly appropriate.

First Bill Peters, now Marc Crawford. With Brent Sopel, Patrick O’Sullivan, Daniel Carcillo and Sean Avery all speaking up, it is pretty damning. The NHL seems to be having its version of a MeToo movement.

Never seen Jersey Shore. Don’t get the reference but I certainly don’t think tooling on Jersey Shore is at all out of bounds or douchey (with the nod to the fact that NHL Twitter accounts lean towards “edgy” these days usually)

To be clear I meant that an official team account tooling on an opposing coach being fired is douchey (unless there is some extreme reason for schadenfreude here that I’m missing).

Jersey Shore (I never watched it either, but apparently plenty of followers of the VGK account have) was douchey enough that referencing it without protection is a bit douchey, too.

Yeah there’s no way they were referencing firing. But I agree it wouldn’t be cool

With Dallas sitting 6th in the west, Montgomery is out due to "unprofessional conduct". If this were in one of the three majors, it would be a massive story.

Yeah Stars are the hot right now. 12-3-2 since Nov 1.

Wonder how detail will be released.

Weird vested interest for me is that my daughter works in the SID office at Denver. I never heard ANYTHING from her about Montgomery abusing players or really anything negative at all.

Curious to see what she hears when she heads back to school in Jan.

We have the following clues:
Jim Nill said he was made aware this weekend of a "material act of unprofessionalism." There is no connection to any past or present players per Nill
Jim Nill said will not discuss the incident out of respect for those involved. Did say it had nothing to do with the recent points from the NHL BOG meeting. Also said no other employees involved. There was no criminal investigation involved
I'd like to think that it's espionage. He was a spy that gave information to another organization.

Yeah, but unless it's rape or drug trafficking most employers aren't going to get the police involved. If you get to groping the new intern or get caught doing some blow in the bathroom you're just gonna get fired without a police report being filed.
