I watched the 28-3 Super Bowl comeback and then compiled a list of players who have played for the Pats and have left the team since then. I did not put on Patriot greats, Antonio Brown or Michael Floyd.

That was good. And, a nice refresher on most of the off-season activity.
The upcoming season will see the Bears entering a cycle of mediocrity marked with 21 wins over the next four seasons.
On a podcast this week, Bill Barnwell said he would have given this move an F, if not for the Hopkins trade.

He can give F's to both of them, can't he?

He'd probably write 2,000 words as to why he couldn't.

Cam needs the threat of the run. At absolute minimum has to have some roethlisberger in him. If not, the pocket passing isn't good enough. Didn't think that was an outlier belief.
It's not an outlier belief but it should be because it's wrong, or at least was when his shoulder was intact. It certainly helps him to be able to run but the offense they used to run before 2017 was all downfield shots to shitty WRs that couldn't separate, and Ted Ginn.

He completed 67% of passes in last full season he played.
That may have been a completely different Cam than exists, now.
Here is Cam's Passing-only DVOA and Rank among qualifying passers (100+ pass plays up to 2014, 200+ pass plays 2015 and later)
'11 => 0.8%, 16th
'12 => 2.0%, 15th
'13 => 1.7%, 19th (first year without Steve Smith)
'14 => (14.5%), 33rd
'15 => 7.6%, 12th
'16 => (13.0%), 28th
'17 => (6.9%), 21st
'18 => (1.4%), 23rd (decomposing shoulder)
'19 => (7.0%), not enough attempts to qualify by ranking
That really makes me sad, as I'm a huge fan of Cam. Keep in mind that DVOA (a) adjusts for opponents, meaning lighting up a crappy pass D like the Saints is discounted, and (b) doesn't separate the QB from his surrounding talent and play calls. Cam's passing alone (as a function of Carolina's passing) is really just ok.
DVOA is just a manipulation of stats. It will tell you that Case Keenum was the best QB in the NFL in 2017, which he most certainly was fuckin' not.

Congratulations to Steelers fans for appearing on Hard Knocks 2020.
(Only eligible teams this year are Jacksonville, Denver, Arizona, Detroit and Pittsburgh. Hard to imagine HBO passes up the chance to choose Pittsburgh.)
For draft heads - Dane Brugler’s annual draft bible is out at The Athletic.

Numbers are definitely better, though I agree with the one twitterer who said they look a little Atlanta Falcon-y (white over white with the red #s especially). Though I think the Falcons are getting new unis this season, too. Maybe that similarity will be short-lived.

I don't have too much of a strong opinion here other than those fucking suck shit hard.
Texas Tech Diamondbacks is really the aesthetic you want.

Exactly on the dbacks. And closer to home, weren’t the Jags just lauded a season or two ago for getting rid of the gradient helmets?
I was hoping they would go pre-Glanville, red helmets and all.

Yeah, those suck. Oversimplified jersey/pants design, then ugly oversized helmet logo. 80s/90s style would have been fine.

Anything other than Wingdings would be better than the current font on those Bucs jerseys.

Can’t wait for you guys to review the new Rams jerseys since they did such a great job with the logos...

The Rams aren’t changing their helmet design, are they? They have the best helmet in the league.

Rams unis are -- allegedly -- going to be pretty good
