I was listening to a podcast earlier that was discussing how the Lakers can possibly fix things for next season. The potential trade partners listed for Westbrook were the Rockets (sending something as a sweetener with Westbrook to HOU for John Wall) and ... the Knicks.

any team that trades for Westbrook should be folded. Even the tanking teams.

The Rockets would have zero intention of keeping him. They’d buy him out.

It's really telling that Simmons has had a national following for over twenty years now, and it doesn't appear as if his talent has grown one iota in the interim. You'd think there'd be some growth, but he still has the same voice as he did as a guy in his late 20s when he started.

As a white guy who has grown exponentially wealthier over that time, he has never needed to grow in any way.

I'm not sure about that. His early stuff at his own site, and maybe even early on at ESPN 2, he was funnier and certainly more juvenile and misogynistic. He's improved on the misogyny, but it's not surprising that he hasn't otherwise changed his "voice" much. How many people do?

Coincidentally, I listened to his podcast the other day for the first time in a long time. It was the one where he made the comments about Jalen Green that apparently got the Houston folks upset. He was pretty clearly exaggerating for comedic effect. He essentially said so, and all the folks on the podcast were laughing and ribbing him about it. If you don't think the Chronicle blog folks weren't intentionally taking it out of context to get a big story, you're naïve. It's how the new world of journalism crossed with social media works.

Are the Hawks allowed to claim Joe Johnson?

Not quite in the off season, but Russ isn't in the playoffs...

Maybe this belongs in the playoffs thread, but I didn't want to threadjack it.
