Well feel better because that lady is actually 32 years old.

While I hate to see an officer rough up an old lady, she had it coming. The officer gave her every opportunity to comply. I just can't even fathom leaving the scene when an officer says you are under arrest. I was curious to read the comments, and I was surprised I didn't see any attacking the officer for escalating to violence or drawing his gun.
Here's the thing - they have her plate number, they could always get her car impounded once she got home.
Fuck, these guys love their guns don't they?
Don't get me wrong, she deserves the fines she's got coming, license suspension etc., but man, how do they train these guys?

I don't think he did anything wrong in the slightest. Quite possibly textbook.
Once she drove off, he is probably trained to assume that the person has a firearm with them and to draw as you approach. He quickly put the pistol back after she opened the door and he could see her hands, and then went to the taser when she tried to kick him. The perp really shouldn't matter.

Sort by 'controversial' on the Reddit link. People are literally defending her. But from what I can gauge, it's people with poor sentence structure. So either bots, boomers, or flat out idiots who don't understand how to deal with police.

Yeah, I didn't think about the fear that she may have had a concealed weapon. I was just reacting to what I could see.
Probably a big concern in a place like Oklahoma.

I've been through escalation of force training. He did everything correct. In fact, I'm completely surprised how calm he was.
And one other thing, a tazer is exclusively a non-lethal weapon. So that 'poor old lady getting tazed' perspective means nada. She kicked him and flat out refused to comply. At some point you have to make the person comply.
Now could this lead to a discussion where you go 'Ok, no more arresting people. We'll just send cops to your house later, impound the vehicle, suspend the license, and fine her more.'? Sure. And what if she decides she's just too "country girl" to comply with that?
What I see was that a dumbass woman was told no for the first time in her life and she's reacting like a victim.

Well said.
Eh. I don't think she's of that generation that never got told no. I just think she's an asshole.

I would bet all of the money that the day before this incident she would have had very strong opinions on what should happen if a 23 year old black dude did exactly what she did.

That guy needs to team up with Jerloma for a duet.
is NOT the celebrity guest despite having already won the Masters twice and beating Jack at the U.S. Open two months prior. Seems crazy now, but I guess this would be like Brooks Koepka appearing in front of a bunch of highbrow celebs today, right?

I pulled a reverse McBeth at my tournament today
So you won the duel with MacDuff and then brought the previous king and your best friend back from the dead?
NERD ALERT!
(Wish I had thought of this)
Fabulous!

A little bit longer than it should be, but yes, that was impressive, as are her abs.

Took awhile to get to the finish line but I really enjoyed it. I also think I love that Pomplamoose girl.

This is maybe a bit long for this thread, but it’s not really a podcast, and I don’t think we have a history buffs thread.
Honestly, it may be the best video of its type I’ve ever seen. I’ve read about the Battle of Midway and seen documentaries and dramatizations and I never had any idea what was actually going on until I saw this. Part of why this works may be that it takes the Japanese perspective, meaning that the fog of war is on their end and you don’t see where the Americans are until they do. But I think the biggest thing is that this guy just knows how to present maps and graphics in a way that tells you what’s important without overwhelming the senses. The only problem is he seems to have quit without doing part 2.

Just watched this, and this is fantastic. Adding the "fog of war" aspect to it really makes it easier to understand why the Japanese did what they did.

It's incredibly well done and I still check back from time to time to see Pt. 2.
