I went to a show on Friday that my 7-year old was begging me to take her along. I didn't, but I did FaceTime during her favorite song. I was proud that she knew all the lyrics and asked the next morning if I bought her any "merch".

NICU Day 89: Due date! We finally reached the original due date. Wife and I are really worn out but hanging in there.
They were born 5/18 when their due date was 8/15. I think they got mixed up and confused so they came out!

Shannon (Twin A) is still on 2Liters Oxygen. Sophia (Twin B) has been breathing room air for a week. Both feeding well and look good but yesterday Sophia lost her voice. She sounds like she smokes a pack a day haha. Usually she is very loud so maybe she damaged her vocal cords? I hope it's not an infection. Doctors unsure, want to see if it gets worse but now the nurses cant hear her from afar. Hoping there are no setbacks and I can get them home in about a week.

As of six hours ago, Q is in Paris (for the semester). Delayed flight out of Dulles but no issues after the two hour delay. Found his way to his apartment and reports a private balcony. Sounds like he's gonna have an awful semester. My heart goes out to him...

I didn't ask the salary...but she told me (she asked me to review the offer details to see if there was anything that was looking wrong).

My response to the offer amount?

My son flies out to Heidelberg on Sunday for a year there. I am so fucking nervous. He has pretty serious emotional issues, and he did not do well in his one semester at the Colorado School of Mines, which was only 500 miles away. He'll be studying history instead of engineering, and that is a lot easier for him - but of course at least some of his classes will be in German. He's had German classes off and on for years, but he's never been that good at understanding it when others speak it. They will start with a five-week crash course in the language for the exchange students, but that still scares the crap out of me. Plus he'll be in a shared-common-space dorm setup, and he's so high-intensity that he can get into conflicts when others have to spend too much time with him.

(Ok, so I guess this really doesn't fit in the crowing thread, more the scared-shitless-for-him thread.)

I'm sure there will be many joys to come, but the joy of getting to take them home after 3.5 months in the NICU is going to be tough to beat. At least until they score their first Timbit hockey goals.
