That five minutes from Michelle is a great watch if you didn’t see her speech last night.

Also, if you missed Doug Emhoff’s full speech (13 minutes) - well worth a look-

Just unbelievable how good she is. He is fantastic, of course. But over the years, it's become more and more clear to me how much of his success is due to her influence. It makes senses, of course. I feel that way about my marriage. But I sometimes forget about it with others, especially public figures.

Also a great speech by the way if you like actual progress. It's time everyone started calling oligarchs what they are.

He was just so out of place last night. That generation, just...time to step back...

Also, this was so good from Barack on Walz...

Last night was fucking incredible. That was just a masterclass in messaging and positioning. The Milwaukee move... fucking brilliant.

This is still The Obama's party. And that's absolutely fine. Kamala has picked up the Hope vibe and it's so much more effective than just being Never Trump. Yes, that's part of it... But it's not enough.

And they are just so fucking good at getting under Trump's skin. The crowd size and Michelle's "failing forward" stuff is going to burn.

And I know I have recency bias, but... Michelle's speech has got to be in the top 5 of all time best convention speeches. Just incredible.

Brilliant speech, delivered perfectly. Some great, pointed zingers and deflating attacks, like Kamala’s laugh.

(On a personal level, I'm glad he's not on the Supreme Court. He fucking sucks.)

Sucks that since he was also buddies with Epstein it completely took away that attack line with Trump.

I haven't seen a decent Bill Clinton speech in at least 15 years. He says mostly the same things, he is uninspiring, and his delivery has been trash long before his voice started to go.

The convention would have been stronger without either of them, but at least Hilary: a) doesn't have Bill's skeletons, and b) can give a decent speech.

Did Trump really "check on" a lady fainting literally less than 48 hours after Harris did same from the podium? No time stamps, constant clippage, etc. make it hard to know when things happen sometimes.

Wes Moore is a star. I'd read about him, but never heard him speak.

I thought Mayor Pete did a great job as well.

But Tim Walz was clearly the story of the night. And god-damned...seeing his son Gus, in tears, proudly shouting "That's my dad!"...well, it got dusty in our house.

Yeah, Clinton put the audience to sleep. Other highlights have been mentioned, but Walz really brought it home.

Hoping there aren't anymore buzz kills prior to Kamala tonight.

Your guy Walz needs to stop fucking saying IVF though. Don't care if it's a subtle difference (and the egg not leaving the uterus is not really a subtle difference). People are fucking stupid. One innocuous lie is enough for them to draw a moral equivalency and disregard all of Trump's lying. I wish that wasn't how it works, but for fuck's sake, he should know this.

People know what IVF is. Most have never heard of IUI. Not surprising that he uses the term "IVF" instead of IUI.

Republicans are desperate to smear a good person and his family. The swift-boating 2.0/"stolen valor" nonsense didn't work, so this is the next thing.

So the Republicans and their standard bearer, who lie about everything, are going to make this term a thing, one that I'm sure the vast majority of people who never experienced it wouldn't be able to parse the difference?

Miss me with that bullshit.

The underlying issue is that he keeps framing it in a way that if the thing that they want banned was banned, they wouldn't have been able to have the kid.
