EnochRoot sucks.

If he has it, I’d go Scherzer here. The worst version of him gets 3 outs before 3 runs then he gets full rest before the World Series.

Andrew Miller was a disaster for much of this regular season, so I can't believe he made it through 6 postseason appearances with a 0.00 ERA and 0.60 WHIP. I agree it would be good to have someone ready. Hudson looks shaky.

The past two games he’s let absolutely catchable pitches by him, and last night it cost them a run. He’s got prodigal power when he’s on, but that’s the type of behind-the-plate hustle you see in career minor leaguers.

Absolutely man. Phantom injury to get him the fuck off the roster and lets roll with Romine and Higashioka. We should be up 3-0.

Sweet appeal to stone, nevertheless you can’t give away runs against the Astros. That might not even work against Greinke.

Knowing the pitch was going to shoot straight up he should have dove in front of the plate to smother Britton's 53 footer. We're on the same page here.

After watching the Cardinals “offense” this postseason, I’m amused by the debates on this thread about the merits of Correa and Sanchez. Maybe the NL really is the junior varsity league.

I'm trying to figure out who was worse - the Cards this year or the Cubs in 2015. Both were swept without ever holding a lead. I think the Cubs were only tied in something like 6 innings out of 4 games. And they lost to the fucking Mets.

Miller may be a good test case of the dejuiced ball. His numbers were pretty similar to where they were a year ago ... save for HR. 3 HR in 34 IP a year ago and 11 in 54 in 2019. Last year his ERA was far higher than his FIP and this year that flipped.

(but it was very easy to see how that contract was not going to work out well for the Cardinals when it was agreed to)

Not to be a contrarian, but Buck does have great baseball instincts. He sucks in general and is tiring as hell, but on the call he’s actually quite good.

Also ... unclutch HR to cut back most of last inning is lame and actually a bad thing.

He’s had a great season and it’s objectively unfair to play him at 1B in the playoffs, but JFC has he looked like a guy who needs those extra 30+ to field the ball tonight.

Except that Judge is a lumbering RF, and Sanchez is the one who let four balls past him in this playoff series.

Dude sucks.

There was a play last night that was reminiscent of one earlier in the series. First and third, Bregman hits a tapper back to Tanaka. Tanaka gave a run towards Altuve (who is running from 3rd to home) before flicking it to Sanchez, who starts the pickle. Of course, Altuve’s goal is to stay alive long enough to advance Springer and Bregman. Mission accomplished. 2nd and 3rd.

Seems to me the correct way to go about this was for Tanaka to run towards Altuve, but Urshela needed to collapse the distance behind Altuve (Didi was there ready to cover the bag). They got played like this earlier this series, too.

Sanchez's fault for not yelling at Tanaka and/or forcing him to stay out longer during PFPs during the spring.

They hit .500 doing it, too.

Sanchez sure put me in my place, though.

Here’s to hoping Hinch runs Cole out there on short rest tomorrow.
