I went up to the Park City area today.
Holy shit is it still deep. This isn’t even the high mountains.
This metal railing along the ground is the top of the backrest for a park bench.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Holy shit with this today. Wow.
(went a little nuts, consolidating)
ETA: Just realized I went for a run about 4 hours ago and it wasn’t like this at all. Weird.
ETA2: Jeez and I just noticed the sun is actually “out”. No clouds, just smoke/haze.
ETA3: photos tell a thousand uh posts?

Has anyone else’s asthma been kicking their asses lately? This is the worst I’ve had in decades.

I've seen more pollen this year on cars than I ever remember seeing in the 25 years I've lived in MD.

Re: The Weather
It's crazy, I was at my daughter's soccer practice at 5:00 on the phone with my mother. She was telling me how horrible the smoke was by them and I told her we had nothing in NJ. It was a beautiful sunny day. Literally 10 minutes later the winds picked up and I could detect a faint smell of smoke and the sky suddenly got "cloudy." Then it just continued to get worse. It was like a fog rolled in, but slightly different. The sun turned a crazy orange and my eyes were burning. Asthma kicked in 30 minutes later. Eyes finally stopped burning an hour after I got home and my clothes stink.rass wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 4:43 pmHoly shit with this today. Wow.

My mom was saying they went out to dinner with FoxNews watching friends and they were surprised when my mom mentioned the wildfires. Fox hasn't mentioned it, so I assume they haven't devised a way to blame Biden yet. But they will.

I’ve just been dealing with this for a few days from major fires several hundred miles away. I don’t know how you people in California just accept his happening basically every summer.

We are doing a photoshop at one of our west Ky locations and the haze is killing our shots. Blame Canadá indeed.

I told my neighbor when I saw him this morning that it took almost ten years, but I finally got some LA weather here.

Re: The Weather
I had the "pleasure" of being here in MD for most of the worst pollen, then trucking it out to CO whose spring is (easily) about 3 or 4 weeks behind, so... Double the Pollen!!

Re: The Weather
Might be worse right now than last evening.
I had to head into the office today but was planning on being back in town by 2:30 to pick up the youngest from school so she didn't have to walk and the district decided in the last 15 minutes to close at 1PM (6 minutes ago). Dammit.
Two of my coworkers/friends are playing a round of golf with the CEO this afternoon and since the big man doesn't seem bothered by this shit they're stuck playing. Interested to see how far they get.

Re: The Weather
Welcome to the show...now that wildfire smoke is affecting the northeast it's become a major story.
Here in Colorado we've been dealing with smoke from Canada for 2 years now plus Montana and Washington's for 4+ years.

Re: The Weather
Way worse now! Around noon, the air started turning a bizarre orange color and continued getting worse. Like noticeably worse by the minute while staring out the window on a call. So much pollution in the air it almost looked like it was raining. Made the mistake of opening the door to try to get a picture and I stunk up the first floor of the house. Took one breath, and you can feel the pollution and it's shocking how strong the smell is! My wife was out, came back 45 minutes after I opened the door and she immediately said it stinks in the house. I think it finally cleared up, but the kids are going to want to open the door to come in when they get home from school. Went in the basement and it stinks of smoke down there. Just glad I closed all the windows before the smoke hit, had them open to air out the room and forgot about them.rass wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 12:08 pm Might be worse right now than last evening.

I just stepped outside where I am (picture where MD, DE, and PA all meet) and I was taken aback by the smell.

hazy, hazy, hazy
and stinky
not letting the missus out (due in 8 days)
and the boy is not happy as the Last Chance Meet was cancelled - so no chance to improve on that 1600 time.

Yeah, I can see that there's a haze, and they tell me on the interwebs that the AQI here is 151.
I still just mowed my lawn because it was ridiculously high.
