Such as when he brags about how smart he is because his uncle was a professor at MIT.sancarlos wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2024 2:31 pmNobody has a higher opinion of Trump’s level of intelligence than does Trump himself. That's not how it works!!!
Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
I suppose his uncle is dead, but holy shit I would have loved to see the look on his face when he found out he inspired that question.

Assuming that they are unarmed (which is a huge assumption given the people), is there really any good argument not to tell supporters of TFG who aren't inherently stupid or gullible to fuck themselves with the dildo from Se7en.
Maybe I have a different view than some of you. But January 6th was an inflection point. It should be viewed by reasonable people as an automatically disqualifying decision he made. Either a person supports America, or they support Trump. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to people who are just plain stupid, but if a person is of sound mind and not dumber than a pile of rocks, how can a person person support TFG and not be a shithead?
I'm really serious here. Shunning is a good thing. Shame keeps people in line.

If Brown-Jackson was on the majority in a criminal decision I would have to think that there was something wrong with the prosecution.

Any merit to the argument that this actually might mean Trump could be hit with that charge even if no one else can? Or is he immune now? Haven't checked and I figure that would be the last of the day.L-Jam3 wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 10:52 am If Brown-Jackson was on the majority in a criminal decision I would have to think that there was something wrong with the prosecution.

Apparently this will apply to about 6% of the Jan 6 cases so I don't think it's worth getting worked up about.
The Chevron thing, though...that going to reverberate through society as a whole for a long time.

Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
I heard Elie Honig discuss, and he said it will limit the maximum sentence Trump could receive, but there is no way he was getting 20 years anyways. It will limit how the DOJ can go after some of the J6ers and probably prevent some from being prosecuted, but he didn't seem too upset.A_B wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2024 1:52 pmAny merit to the argument that this actually might mean Trump could be hit with that charge even if no one else can? They cut out the most important thing at the top. What court and which judge. The entire judiciary has lost a great deal of credibility in the last few years. Supreme court is a biased, political, griftish entity. The prosecutors cant seem to put aside politics or keep their panties on. And the trial court judges are apparently the same. The special counsel cant follow procedure in his prosecution? We sure about that, or just a politically motivated judge? All is shit. Im growing comfortable with violence and civil war.

If we could separate the red states into their own country, I think I'd be ok with that. Give everybody a year to move before it goes into effect, and voila.

We've discussed Michigan as it's cheaper, bluer, and we have friends/family up there. We are both remote, and I can work anywhere and Kelli can work in most states including Michigan. We're just trying to decide if we are going to piss our kids off by moving them from all their friends they've known their whole lives (and mine). The Sybian wrote: Mon Jul 15, 2024 11:43 amEasy for you living in a blue state as a retired empty nester. Serious question: Is there any sense of move while you can or is that something you don't imagine ever being restricted?
Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
Yes. We may have to do the opposite to Harper that was done to her mom before freshman year of high school. Move from Texas to Michigan. We've discussed whether it's worth them hating us now and understanding the why as they get older.mister d wrote: Mon Jul 15, 2024 12:06 pm Serious question: Is there any sense of move while you can or is that something you don't imagine ever being restricted?

Speaking of moving, if 3 million people moved out of California to specific red counties in red states the Republican Party would cease to exist.
