Not the top. I officiated with a guy who refs the National Lacrosse League and former NLL ref this weekend. I am also not one of the refs selected to do the World Games nor do I have my College Certification (mostly because of time)....but still a very cool experience. The Women's National Team was a scrimmage because I was not selected for the tournament final.

So will be in Pittsburgh on June 4th and 5th. Got nothing on the 4th and Houston is in town to play the Pirates. Never been to PNC Park. Any recommendations on seats (any recommendations for getting a great deal/cheap tickets) or spots to hit before the game?

We stubhub'd into Sec 115 row 4 last memorial day weekend against Atlanta for ~$75 per seat so I'm betting you can beat that with a single. Incredible view, esp with Sale pitching, but it was a lot of sun if you're not into that.

Brunch: Scratch & Co
Brewery: Dancing Gnome
Sandwich I didn't get but I think Rass did nearby the stadium: Given to Fly
Restaurant I didn't get to go to but looks really cool: Fet-Fisk

Andy Warhol’s museum is about 3 blocks from the ballpark if that’s your deal.

They have giant ads inside for Oxy and Halliburton, so just go the whole nine yards. Even I have to give them begrudgingly some credit.

Brian, speaking of. Why did they get rid of the lane between the pitcher’s mound and home in Comerica? That was awesome. Boo. I hope the Tigers finished last until they return it. The Kurse of the Keyhole.

I saw some stories but consensus is unknown. Honestly I can’t get too worked up about it. Only reason to be is Comerica was last MLB park with one but it’s not like Tiger Stadium had one and they brought it over. That would be a different story.

It's a Pirates game. You're going to get cheap tickets just about anywhere, any time.

I've only been to a couple of Pirates games, and I didn't spend much time around the stadium itself. The stadium itself is fantastic, and the view of downtown is one of the best backdrops in MLB. I've sat in the upper deck each time I've been there, so that helps highlight the downtown view.

It's a bit of a drive away from the stadium, but there's a fantastic soccer bar called Piper's Pub that I highly recommend. The whole area where Piper's Pub is has a bunch of restaurants and bars so you'll have plenty of options if Piper's Pub is too busy. Fat Head's Saloon is across the street, and they have pretty good food and beer. Their sandwiches are huge.

Personally, I recommend avoiding Primanti Brothers because I'm not a fan of cold, soggy fries on a sandwich. But if that appeals to you, so be it.

Primanti Brothers has to be in the top 3 of most over-hyped sandwiches on the planet. We've talked about this many times over the years.

Garbage.

I'm sure it was here somewhere but I'm too lazy to search ... the bread redeems a lot of it. Not all of it, because the fries concept and execution isn't good, but a lot of it.

Only way it'd be potentially expensive if is it were a Skenes start.
