LOL at tossing the batter who got drilled by a pitch the umpires decided was intentionally thrown at him.

Go to bed old man.

Can't see that as purposeful the way Dusty is reacting.

Walked away to make dinner and my texts started going off and I refused to believe that was intentional but … man that looked intentional. Even a two-seamer that’s riding like that it’s hard to believe Maldonado was set up where he was and Abreu missed that badly, coincidentally to the guy who just had that sort of HR trot and with their history. I still can’t believe he wanted that but I’m not discounting it like I was.

(Rogue pitcher and/or catcher stupidity if it happened, def not a bench call.)

Why assume Dusty ordered it? The pitcher can hide behind the situation (plausible deniability), and apparently the umps weren't buying it. We're not privy to what's being said at the plate, either.

Timing is wrong though. It's a close game the Astros could still win.

Right. Abreu went small-minded in that moment and got called out for it.

After the HR I switched over in time for the first pitch of the NL game.

Wasn’t watching live because I’m at a work event for my wife. Hearing everyone in the audience freaking out without knowing exactly what happened was awesome. That’s what I get for trying to be a good husband and not watch it on my phone at the table!

I’m guessing y’all know my take on the suspension after last night. So much fucking wrong with it.

- if you think their intent was to put two on with no outs in the 8th inning of a two-run game in a tied ALCS, you’re dumb
- if you think that intent wipes clean anyone’s reaction to that (touching the umpire, being too big of a pussy to actually go after the guy you think intentionally hit you), you’re dumb
- if you think all that happened and the penalties are correct, but don’t have a problem with the Rangers pitcher throwing at Dubon’s head after becoming another child of Jose Altuve and not being ejected, you’re dumb

Lotta dumb mutherfuckers out there.

You can’t say “it’s impossible it was intentional because of the situation” but also watch that. It was intentional against all logic.

Other series, Moreno is an absolutely gorgeous receiver of the ball. No nonsense pulls or any of that, he just catches it perfectly every pitch.

It wasn’t intentional from the bench. Totally understandable that Baker lost his shit. I just think Abreu went rogue.

So thoughts on the other two? Should those players have been ejected/suspended. No way the next pitch after a HR giving a flyby to Dubon’s face is unintentional if you’re going to argue the other.

Jays gave him away for nothing and kept Kirk who was always going to regress with that body. Talent evaluator and Analytics Atkins still has a job.

Pretty much agree with Giff and loved Baker going off on the umps, but I'm surprised there wasn't a suspension for him refusing to leave the bench after being thrown out.

Baker acted the part of a fool, because it was obvious to everyone Abreu went rogue and drilled Garcia. This “trying to pitch him inside” nonsense was just that, considering where Maldonado expected the pitch.

Why is Abreu going rogue there? Why do you think a guy with no history of ever going after players is going to jeopardize his team by going rogue and hitting a guy to give them 2-on with 0 outs down 2 in the most crucial inning of the most crucial game of that series? Because he got excited like most Astros do after HRS? When Abreu hasn’t even given up a HR to him in two years? That is some impressive mental gymnastics, my haters.

Maybe. And we know by the very first pitch after Altuve’s HR that they don’t give a shit about that. If Abreu is suspended, Chapman Jr should be too.

All six umpires thought he drilled him intentionally. We're not the ones doing cartwheels.
