My oldest, who got put on a PIP after 5 months at Wayfair, finally got a meeting set up for today to talk about the situation with her second level manager. We talked on the phone for about 45 minutes last night to discuss what she wanted to say, and she sent me pictures of her notes that she had written out (I advised her to write down her talking points before the meeting).

And then the fucker cancelled on her, and is on holiday the rest of the week.

I've been telling her not to bail out without something else lined up, but I totally wouldn't blame her if she quit.

I'm not a big boycott person... But I do hold fucking grudges.

And after a few products from that were pretty underwhelming... I've now moved firmly into Fuck Wayfair zone.

How you treat your interns and newly hired employees says a lot about an organization. I know it's not fair to take this one instance and blow up the place, but...

Fuck Wayfair.

I've looked at their website a few times, and I have no idea how you pick out something to order. I wanted some pasta bowls...and it give me eight pages, with no way to distinguish between any of them.

That's because Wayfair is just a front to traffic children and there are no actual products.

(I had someone tell me this, then pull up something expensive with a woman's name as the product name to prove to me they were worse than epstein. I then pulled up snopes in eight seconds, but of course "that's just what they want you to see" just like with the space lasers and Hawaii fire temperatures. Don't bother looking it up you'll be dumber.)

Is Wayfair like Amazon where the same product is sold 10 times under infuriating to read "brand" names like Xvolt and Sluurtz and shit like that?

Not pride, but not sure where else to put it. My son just got in his first accident in my car, and I’m stuck at home with no car. Wife is at Rutgers parent orientation. Sucks not being able to go over and help him. Also realized I forgot to put the new insurance card in the car, old one just expired. He called, sounded panicky, but said not hurt. Other car ran a stop sign and hit the passenger side door. Joys of parenting. And I’m about to get into back to back meetings I can’t miss.

Not helping you now but I installed the insurance company app (they have the insurance card as a feature) on my kid's phone so that he always has that as the backup.

I don't love the idea of handing a cop my phone, though. Maybe there is a way it stays locked but can see the card.

It doesn't really matter if it's the old card as long as that's still your insurance. The account number is really all that matters.

Yeah, I think it’s fine. I texted a pic of the new card right away. Cop noticed it was expired and asked if he had a valid card, cop was fine with the picture.

I honestly miss that shit. Time in the car with the kids, finding new coffee/bagel/lunch places in towns I've never been to.

My oldest is working in my wife's office this summer before she heads to college and I'm jealous of the time my wife gets in the car commuting, just hanging out. I spent the spring offering to wake up at 6AM on Saturdays to drop her off at the HS for track meets instead of her driving herself. :(

Try 8:15 arrivals to away games in Baltimore. Only to lose 1-0 on a penalty when the other team took out our goalie and drew the call. Total Gooch Onyewu call. Our goalie is about the same size as Gooch, little white girl ran into her while she played the ball. OTOH, their goalie was also a big black girl, and she wiped out my daughter as they both went for a cross. Correct no call on my daughter until they called it the other way. But I’m not bitter…

I don't miss those 8:00 am AYSO games, at all. Especially if I was slated to referee.

Frankly, I'm kind of glad my daughter wasn't/isn't particularly sporty. Academic pursuits involving parents rarely started that early in the morning, or required extensive travel.

one cannot simultaneously bitch about 8am starts and 95 degree heat. so I take the 8am (especially if there are multiple games) start every time and be thankful. and yeah the time spent is priceless. not to mention the games. theyve looked like the actual sport for a few years now

And no amount of washing could improve the smell built in over years of wear. I can still remember the smell of my little league jersey.
