We should do Virtual Swanp Movie nights where we agree to all watch the same movie at around the same time and post about it

Like for example The Kelly Affair is a much better band name than The Carrie Nations. Z-Man Barzell is an idiot.

Will totally stay up late for "Point Break" so we can start writing our book about it.

That was one of my ideas but we could even make it a Swamp thing if we get enough good stuff and enough people. Maybe it’s better as an e-book than a podcast.

If we do this right maybe we figure out a way to make a little legit dough and exploit the quarantine. We basically invent an entire new kind of way to interact with a film with the written word by having an almost oral history type approach as people comment throughout the movie. Get some of our funniest guys in a “room” together and take on Point Break or Roadhouse. Try to edit and format quickly as possibly as e-books. Sell for all profit at like $1.99 per. Try to figure out a way to sell the story to the media as a “feel-good” entrepreneurial idea out of the quarantine as opposed to the hoarders (honestly, shit like Fox News will absolutely eat up this kind of shit more than most).

Or it could suck and we waste a night.

Either way.

It’s funny you say that because I’ve seen the three previous Avengers movies but was going to watch Endgame soon. This thing only works if some of the people watching haven’t seen the movie before and/or have no interest in seeing it.

Well, I guess that fits me because I have no interest in seeing superhero films.

If you're into animation and need something non- violent to watch with the kids (12 +), Your Name is pretty good.

Biggest film of 2016 in Japan.

Let me know when you’re home and when you have a free evening and around 9 pm ET one day and we’ll do the inaugural Swamp movie thread for Point Break (1991). If any of you don’t own it, you should have time to buy the DVD on Amazon or watch on OnDemand/streaming/rent.

Frank McBain? Is that where the Simpsons got McBain from.

I'm not in for Avengers movies, but that Gary Busey one looks unmissable.

My college roommate and I have a 10+ year running joke when we text the other one "Road House is on". Which is often if you get AMC.

I have the same running joke related to Pure Country. More of a look what is on CMT versus AMC...but on way more often than you would expect for that movie.

Oh, my heavens. See this is why I want to have a (virtual) Swamp-Up and watch it together. Just an absolute masterpiece. If DSafe is available I'm thinking Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET.

Normally I'd feel bad going upstairs to watch Point Break and spend two hours on The Swamp when Tanya is home but by Thursday, I'm sure she will probably welcome that.

Gonna be a lot of babies and divorces conceived in the next month.

My wife is working from home starting tomorrow. I'm thrilled?

Point Break is actually on television Thursday morning on the SyFy network. So, I'll record it on the dvr it and I'll be down for the group viewing, whenever it occurs.

Thank you for reminding me about this. I did a little checking for future airings before my flight home changed, so I will be on this plan. Pausing/editing for TV may create some minor issues, but nothing serious.

It's probably the edited version but DSafe has seen the real thing enough it shouldn't matter for him. The rest of y'all though. I'll hunt around and see if it's streaming anywhere.

You can rent it for $3.99 on YouTube:

Do we want to lay down some ground rules for how we coordinate this? Just some suggestions of mine, feel free to add your own:

- Make a separate thread for this (maybe one for each movie we do)
- A few minutes before 9ET everyone posts to check in, so we know who's here
- Everyone starts at 9 on the dot
- No pausing, so everyone's viewing stays synced
- Time-stamp your comments like this: [9:45] so everyone can tell what point in the movie you're referring to, in case anyone wants to follow it later

Yeah we need specifics. I am pretty sure my version will have commercial breaks, (recorded from YouTube TV). I am definitely in though. Can we do Road House next?
