I know they are covering their ass but CNN saying 'CNN is not saying that this arrest has anything to do with the bombings earlier this week or the shooting at MIT."

It's all a confused mess right now and people are posting all kinds of unverified rumours.

WHDH-TV (Boston) reported that the two arrests in Watertown are the bombing suspects. WSBK says it is unrelated.

*IF* that is true, it raises the questions of "why did they have explosives in their car?" Self-defense? On their way to blow something else up? Suicide by cops?

We still really have no verified information; certainly no verified information that "the Marathon suspects were tossing live explosive devices onto street during earlier police chase". But that's a helluva a police response if it was just another murder or just another car-jacking, given that those things happen almost every night in big cities. Mind you, that's a very anxious police department.

Anniversary of Americans bombing Libya (the marathon bombing, that is). Columbine. Waco. Oklahoma City. Virginia Tech. Hitler's fucking birthday. Take your pick.

Here's what I fiend weird: the car-jacking took place before the suspects (in the car-jacking) began throwing explosives out of the car. So they were carrying the explosives without having a car? That far? That's extremely bizarre.

Even weirder is one guy has been reported both dead and alive half a dozen times of each.

I'm not convinced these are the same two guys as the two the FBI are looking for. And the cable news networks are nothing but "it may have been this, it may have been that, what could have happened is blah blah blah".

Perhaps took MBTA to MIT, drove yet after shooting MIT officer didn't want to have to traverse campus to get back to their car
(MIT's campus is typically empty at night,) or perhaps MIT officer, who was in his car, was trailing suspects and reported make/model/plates.

ETA that photo is from 7-11 near MIT from last night around time of MIT shooting.
