With starter Moreta leading the charge, the Holland Oats defeated the Corpus Christi Brinkleys, 5-4, in Game 3 of the Division Series today. The right-hander threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball at Spring Brook Supply Field to help Holland take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Moreta gave Holland a solid start. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.

Sports Frogs Hammered by Chewning, Drop Game 4 to Old Bays
With third baseman Steve Chewning leading the charge, the Dundalk Old Bays got a road win over the Burlington Sports Frogs, 7-4, in Game 4 of the Division Series today. Chewning went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once at Green Mountain Grounds to help Dundalk force a 2-2 tie in the best-of-5 series.

The Old Bays took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Facing Burlington hurler TT2.0 with one out, Chewning hit a 3-run home run.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Dundalk manager Dylan Slay said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

Division Series Goes the Distance, Burlington Prevails
Depending on your loyalties, the Division Series was either thrilling or heartbreaking.

The series went down to its final game, with the Burlington Sports Frogs and the Dundalk Old Bays giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Sports Frogs came out on top, winning 5-4 at Old Bay Ballpark today to take the series 3-2.

"We're lucky to be going into the League Championship Series," said Burlington outfielder Nonlinear FC. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."

Nonlinear FC earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .455 average, with 0 home runs, 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.

The Burlington Sports Frogs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Ajax Fighting Hosers - Regina Monologues series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.

Corpus Christi Win Evens Series at 2
The Corpus Christi Brinkleys and the Holland Oats will take the Division Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Brinkleys beat the Oats 8-3 at Spring Brook Supply Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Corpus Christi catcher Joe Hicks was named player of the game in the win after he was 3 for 5 with 3 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Hicks delivered in the top of the second inning for Corpus Christi. With the game tied and runners on 1st and 2nd, the catcher hit a 2-run double to right.

Hicks called the win "a collective effort."

The next game is set to be played Saturday. Slated to start are degenerasian for Holland and Rory Strachan for Corpus Christi.

Holland Takes Division Series in Deciding Game
Mark one up for the Holland Oats.

In the crucial final game, they put away the Corpus Christi Brinkleys 5-3 at Selena Field to win the Division Series, 3-2 and advance to the League Championship Series.

Although his team came up short, Corpus Christi's Ruben Suero was named the series MVP, with many of the league media feeling the series would have been over much sooner if not for his contributions.

"Suero did a lot to keep Corpus Christi in it, no doubt about that," said Oats manager Johnny Carwash.

The Regina Monologues powered past the hometown Burlington Sports Frogs, 4-3, in the opener of the League Championship Series at Green Mountain Grounds today. Regina starting pitcher Robby Orosco threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs, to lead the charge. The Monologues now lead the series 1-0.

Bonao, Dominican Republic-born Bill Ochoa came through in the clutch. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Monologues trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Regina on top.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Orosco told the Regina Today.

With left fielder mister d leading the charge, the Holland Oats got a road win over the Fresno Business Horses, 5-1, in Game 1 of the League Championship Series today. mister d went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once at Business Horse Stadium to help Holland take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

mister d's key contribution came in the top of the fourth when he sent a 0-1 changeup into center for a 2-run single. It put the Oats ahead, 3-0.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said mister d.

It could have been a different outcome for Regina, had it not been for Mitch Griffiths, the 35-year old left fielder . Griffiths contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put Regina up, 5-2.

"I thought we played a nice game," Griffiths told the Regina Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday in Regina. The scheduled starters for the game are TT2.0 for the Burlington Sports Frogs and Sean Sands for the the Regina Monologues.

Oats Hammered by Hodgson, Drop Game 2 to Business Horses
The Fresno Business Horses relied on the hitting of second baseman Tyler Hodgson to get by the Holland Oats, 9-7, in Game 2 of the League Championship Series today. For the game, Hodgson went 2 for 2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.

Hodgson's nice game included a clutch 3-run home run in the bottom of the first.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Fresno manager John Jacobi told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."
