That first half went really fast. Felt half as long as the first half of Point Break.

We will fire up again at 10:15pm Eastern (more or less). I have the pan down "Double Deuce" shot paused.

Speaking of that, Dalton seems to be a lot like Johnny Utah.

I feel like we're really robbed of the chance in this movie to see Dalton show off his philosophy degree. I think a better movie might have actually used that for something other than something the audience is supposed to take to mean that he's obviously smart, but you wouldn't really know it from most of the shit he does in this movie (other than fight).

They could have easily just have had him be a BA in English lit from a directional Michigan school to get the same effect I would say.

Also people who write movies think "philosophy" is just talking about the meaning of life.

Amazon’s “x-ray” feature is nice enough to let me know that the scene coming up features Swayze as Dalton, Travis McKenna as Jack, Keith David as Ernie Bass, and the Jeff Healey Band as Bar band.

"Did you know Dalton has a BS in English from Central Michigan?

I do not believe that because he's a cooler in a scummy bar scene where no amount of book learning is either expected or implied."

NYU is a good school. I would like to write a Dalton prequel about his days at NYU in the Vietnam era.

So, I just looked at Rowdy Herrington's IMDB. In addition to directing this, he has a few other credits... including his lone acting credit as "Black and White Panda" on an episode of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" in 1975. He's from Pittsburgh, but that is from completely out of left field.

TWO MINUTES!

I’ve not read the whole thread but the thought of Patrick swayze being such a sex symbol hits me about the same as those who think Chrissy teigen is unattractive. I don’t get it.

Not going gay here, but I do. He was good looking in the face, in great shape, quiet, and at least could pretend to be secretly more smart and interesting than you'd think. Shit, I might pick him over Tiegen now.

I don't want to get into a long story while the movie's going I'll try to expound on this later. That's one of the only things in the movie that actually kind of rings true to me.

I thought I would have remembered Keith David having a random role in a movie.

Also, this is a "there needs to be a black guy somewhere" role.
