We got a christmas card from a very Mormon aunt and uncle, and my GF said 'My God...how many kids do these people have?'

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
All of them. They have all of the children.
Mormons are exceptionally nice and very kind in my experience. I ran with 11 of them when I did Ragnar Wasatch Back in 2011. The family picked me up from the airport, let me stay with them, cooked really great food for me, were so caring and hospitable. Their young children were so excited someone was visiting too. They were teaching me how to play the piano and just including me in everything. And they never proselytized once.
But they have so many kids. It's like the Wayans, Jacksons, or Duggars. As a dude who is never having kids, I can't comprehend it.

If you had a kid or too, you'd have even less comprehension of why anyone would want 12 kids.Johnnie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 11:30 pm All of them. They have all of the children.

You probably already know this. But in the Mormon faith, more kids literally means more bonus points towards heaven.

Oh yeah...Mormons will give you the shirt off their back (most of them anyways).Johnnie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 11:30 pm All of them. They have all of the children.

But wow...so many kids. My sister has 6! My mom came from a family of 8 kids! I knew a family in high school that had 9 kids!
Re: Twitter:The New Batch
I should be more clear. It wasn't a mom, dad, and 9 kids.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:42 pmOh yeah...Mormons will give you the shirt off their back (most of them anyways).Johnnie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 11:30 pm All of them. They have all of the children.

It was the mom, dad, a couple of their siblings, and like 4 kids. But there were like 6 siblings in the parents' generation and each had at least 4 kids of varying ages.
Still, so many kids.

Gretzky is a good one, as is Brady and his amassing of SuperBowl appearances and rings...Rickey's SBs is a good one too (he's on my top 5 all time list, btw). But gun to head?
I think the fact that In 1920, Babe Ruth hit 54 HR: that number surpassed the total HRs hit by 14 of the 16 teams in MLB that season.

(Like half the reason I'd ever want to run for Congress is to do that roast they do every May. I'd attribute that line to Tucker Carlson.)

By no means have my finger on the pulse of Twitter but it seemed particularly nuts today. Andrew Yang with a late push to be the character of the day. Deleting the tweet doesn’t help.

Taking over from Whitney Cummings, who got dragged by a lot of comics yesterday for this:
Re: Twitter:The New Batch
If he made a COVID based joke and got dragged, ok.
But her post is a friggin strawman/red herring about...comedy? That makes no sense. This isn't about jokes. It's about misinformation.
