I was at the store this afternoon, getting a Mother's Day card, and they announced over the intercom that if anyone over the age of 16 hadn't had their vaccine, they had them at the pharmacy.

That is amazing. Think back to the Trump era and how that would have seemed like a fantasy.

Did you finally find a JnJ?

A lady sought advice and said she was implanted. Vaginally of course. This was before I could recognize illness more readily. I sat there politely. Incessant detail. Every day brings something new.

CVS has them. Not all branches but their website is very clear which branch carries which one. Apparently each branch only carries one type but all three were represented in the area.

Whew, night after that second shot wasn't fun. 101.5 degree fever.

Feeling much better today though!

Hell yeah. There was the mental bounce and then there was the fact that when you're usually sick, its somewhat linear to feeling better rather than just feeling totally fine again.

I used to think it was about 50% chance of symptoms, but it seems like everybody is getting symptoms these days. What's odd is that nobody in my family did. We're 7-for-7 with only my oldest son waiting on his second shot. I'm pretty sure my parents said they were symptom-free as well (and they're old as fuck).

My guess is initially, it was just older people or people with comorbidities getting vaccinated. Side effects seem worse for younger, healthier people, because the side effects are your immune system's response to the vaccine.

My wife got hers today and she bled a lot, must have hit a vein.
So her 5G should be really clear, literally straight into the veins

Pfizer #2 was yesterday afternoon. Felt really tired last night and got 8 hours sleep in, but woke up still really tired and with a headache. Thankfully, witnesses didn't show up for their (Zoom) depositions this morning so I can work at my own pace. Wish I could just sleep it off, but I've got a lot of work that I need to get in before 4:00 today. Then maybe I'll go to sleep super early tonight.

Pfizer approved for 12 and up! Parents getting their kids vaccinated? I’m going to, but not in a huge rush. Figure there will be a rush at first.

The almost 15 year is ready to walk up as soon as it's allowed. The 13 year old won't be far behind.

My almost15 yo was screaming in celebration when he read the news. 12 yo is terrified of shots and will protest. I asked if she wants to ever eat in a restaurant again. She thought about it and said she was fine never eating out again.

pretty much same reaction from our 15yr old - she's the only one left; already signed her up through the school last night so if I got in on time (first come first serve) she'll have shot #1 this Saturday at the school.

Our 15 year old not looking forward to getting the vax. Said she is concerned about long term affects. She understands that long term affects from Covid are probably worse, but still a concern for her. The 13 year old is all for it. Although she is also very content on never leaving the house ever again.

Friday after school. Pretty much entirely to get back in the gym. That's been a red light for me even post vax.

So we can assume everyone masked in a store is vaccinated but still shell-shocked?

It feels like removing the mask restrictions is going to more harm than good. The fuckheads who didn't mask from last year now are going to continue not using masks going forward, without the social stigma of being unmasked keeping a tiny percentage of them in check.

Second shot three weeks ago today, leaving for DC for work tomorrow for nine days (had to test before traveling - #19, I think - plus more tests to come while there, I'm sure, even though I've submitted photos of my vaccination card and am taking the original with me). No idea what I'm going to do because I've recently been trying to remind myself "it's okay to be around people" and figuring out how I'm going to handle it.

I think a big test is how private business owners (stores, restaurants, etc.) handle their masking policies.

But they were never gonna mask. And in the meantime, if the science shows that those of who are vaxxed are good to go, why do we need to keep doing that for fuckwads that won't get vaxxed anyway?

The anti-maskers are gonna be complete assholes to anyone who wants to continue to wear one (for whatever reason) though that’s not reason enough to do away with the mandate.

You think casino attendance will be at full bore that soon? (Honest question.)

Going to a playoff game while you visit?

Yes and no. Memorial Day weekend is gonna be fucked. If I had it to do over again wouldn’t have done it this way but I’ll just have to continue to wear a mask and tell the MAGA trolls to get fucked.

Playoffs ticket prices are out of control especially at only 50 percent capacity. But it’ll be cool to be able to watch the games in Vegas (assuming they don’t get swept before I can get there).

At least in my area, you can't go into any store without a mask. Managers will kick you out, and the police can enforce mask requirements if necessary. Now you are going to have a slew of anti-maskers not wearing masks in stores and spreading the virus more. Maybe that, coupled with vaccines, gets us to herd immunity quicker.
