Fuckin' barf. Do not need multi-hour hagiographies on these assholes like Jordan, Jeter, etc.

Who will the next Jordan brand athlete to get a hagiography be?

Eh... Jordan is an interesting figure, primarily through his hypercompetitiveness. Jeter just seems like a cipher (albeit one who fucks hot chicks).

The NY media tried for 20 years to find something interesting about him and failed.

I played HS baseball against Jeter and even I couldn't care less about his life.

ETA:
(To be accurate, he played. I was a bench body and got in some games against the smaller schools in our conference, not Kalamazoo Central.)

we could do it old-school Crossfire style. i'd provide witty family-friendly rebuttals. e.g. "Giambi was actually safe" and better yet "he actually caught that damn ball in fair territory but apparently didn't know how to stop himself from breaking his own nose"

No question this documentary is going to suck. But a 6-part series on all the idiots who obsessively hate on him would be fascinating TV.

Unless Derek Jeter kills his wife in the next year or so, I question why you need to spend almost as much time on him as was devoted to OJ: Made In America.

Documentary bloat is a real thing.

Feast or famine with the Mariners. Not only the 2 no-nos but they be held hitless late in other games.

80 years ago Joe DiMaggio started his famous hitting streak. The guys at this week in baseball history give a game by game recap.

I think we can all agree that there are some unwritten rules of MLB, e.g. the unwritten rule of when and how to throw at a batter to send the message means you hit from the letters down.

But in my 40 years of avidly following baseball, I never once heard of “no green lights on a 3-0 count in a blowout” until Tatis, Jr. last year.

I know you don't steal when you're up big; I can recall Curt Schilling drilling Barry Bonds back in the late 90s for that very infraction. I just never heard that you have to take 3-0 when during a blowout. I was dumbfounded there was pushback when Fernandito did it.

I get no stealing in a blowout, that's stat-padding bullshit and forcing action. Taking your PA is mandatory.

What are you supposed to do when they bring in a position player in a blowout? Intentionally swing and miss three times?

If I were another manager I would be dying for a chance to blow out Chicago now and have all of my hitters instructed to take until they got a strike unless it was 3-0. Just let him lose his shit in the dugout for fun.

And it always seems that the unwritten rules are only to appease the pitchers.

If I somehow make it to 3-0 on the show, I'd sitting dead red on the power swing no matter the situation. So it's cool in my book.

They need to shitcan everyone in the organization, and then back up a Brinks truck to Theo Epstein's house. Turning the Red Sox and the Cubs into WS winners will look like a piece of cake compared to this disaster.

June 1st I will be sitting in the WestJet Flight Deck in right field at Sahlen Field when the Buffalo Blue Jays host the Marlins.

First major league game in Buffalo with fans in over 100 years, I'm pretty jacked.

(...what's the Swamp-judgement on a 50yr old bringing his glove? I'll have my daughter (15) with me (which she may veto the glove decision anyways because she doesn't want to stick out in any way...) so maybe I'll look less...weird?...)

(also going to Friday June 4th game against the Astros)

Feels like the white Sox players are ready to see Larussa out. Not sure I’ve seen this kind of open unrest before...
