I think it's time for a fresh perspective.

watching an entire 120-minute match where Pepe is man of the match really makes you question yourself.

Had a similar thought. Second half and extra time of this game were quite dreadful.

I think they are required to keep moving forward. But I imagine all of that nonsense will be outlawed soon. It should be. These things are random enough without letting the shooter fuck around with stutter steps or whatever.

Maybe it's like traveling in the NBA. It's in the rules but never called. I hate that penalty takers have that advantage over the keeper.

And fuck Portugal.

So my decision to take a nap beginning at halftime worked out. Wore out the FF button watching the tape after I woke.

Happy I decided to work all afternoon. Can't think of two teams I loathe more than these two. Sounds like it was a stinker.

Johan Cruyff surely must have smiled at that goal wherever he is.

Wales-Portugal, eh? Well, there's an easy root. Maybe Bale will be able to get into Ronaldo's head.

That was a true thing of beauty. He was marked, and suddenly he was standing there all alone.

Is it possible that Wales or Iceland will have had the highest percentage of drunk citizens at one time than any other country in the history of humanity?

Didn't Zumba used to rib Tom for dating one of those lasses? Can't recall Tom's girlfriend's name... (Eta: Fat Claire?)

Anyway, congrats on the win today, Tom. And despite you being a cunt, I will be pulling for Wales to stomp Portugal.

Awesome performance by the Welsh. 15 minutes in, it looked like they were going to get destroyed.

And Wilmots' substitutions beggar belief. If I was a betting man, I'd wager that he's gone before their next competitive game.

That France-Iceland game unfolded in a completely predictable fashion.

Anyone NOT think that the France-Germany game is the final?

Me.

Germans are hurt. This semifinal will test their depth. And France still hasn't faced a real team. Plus they are the Thursday semifinal. If it goes to extra time they will be gassed for Sunday (esp Germany)

Kind of amazing to think that Portugal is in the semi finals without having won a single game in regulation.

I've got Wales +.5 and I can't figure out if I'm happy about it or not. With CR7 at Madrid, I've had plenty of experience rooting against him, but he's definitely still a favorite of mine.

Not sure how Wales can with without Ramsey. Pretty much everything goes through him.
