With Jim’s out of commission after the fire, it looks like we’re gonna try Angelo’s Pizza for a cheese steak, and if the line’s too long, we’ll head over to Tony Luke’s or whatever the fuck they’re calling themselves these days.

Also gonna see if my Dad is willing to head up early to watch the NUFC game in the pub but he might not go for it. Could be a really fun day, or a long torturous day. Either way, there will be beer, so I got that going for me.

If you were willing to go to South St for Jim's, Ishkabibble's is not a bad substitute.

There might be an option if we leave from Ventnor to stop at Henri Hotts BBQ in Hammantin on the way up if he doesn’t want to see the NUFC match. It shook. The building literally shook. It was was a singular experience. Not because of the Phillies, but because I was in this moment with my dad and my brother and 40,000 plus fans, living the fantasy of being in a place where we all got to experience something collectively euphoric.

The night before the game, I got to have Chinese takeout dinner with my brother and parents (without spouses and kids) like it was 1987. We don’t always get along, but whatever. It was surreal and comforting at the same time. After that experience, hugging my dad and brother in the stands of CPB while celebrating THAT home run was as close as I’ve felt to home in a long long while. That’s what that game means to me. I won’t be too upset if Phightins don’t go all the way this year. I got my moment.

Never made it to Ishkabibble, unfortunately. Beer, crab dip and subs in the parking lot sufficed.
