Kris Letang's mystery illness is not believed life threatening, but the Penguins are not sure when he will play again this season, multiple sources told the Tribune-Review.

The team planned to update Letang's condition Friday.

There were concerns last week that Letang's season — if not his career — could be in jeopardy because of the illness, the sources said.
ETA: Letang had a stroke, and doctors found a small hole in his heart. He'll be out at least 6 weeks.
Letang is scheduled to be in the lineup tonight against the Wings.

I'm more worried about clinching any playoff spot. 5 pts takes care of it.
With 1:15 left in the third, Wings knot it up against the Pens and force OT, sealing up consecutive playoff appearance #23. Yay.

Don't expect much in the playoffs but nice to see the streak continue. Especially considering all the injuries.

In the alley behind my friend's office. He's been fuckawful his entire time in Tampa. Can they cut him for this, and avoid his salary next year?

I just sent this link to a friend of mine, and he responded with "I think I might cut myself."

I bet it's a low probability. I don't see what qualifications he has to be a GM. But then again, I'm often surprised when NHL teams give administrative reins to people with little or no management experience. Seems to happen a lot.

Still, the article says there are 5 candidates, so you've got hope.

One of the Pens bloggers posted this link a few days ago. It's a 20-year-old story about McGuire's firing as Whalers' coach. It's a brutal smackdown of McGuire.

According to a random post that came across my twitter...
There have been more NHL playoff games played in Los Angeles (27) over the last three playoffs than there have been in Canada (26).
