One more point is she is incredibly hot in that video. Maybe some more college videos of her can come out.
Yep - adjusted for fame and resources, I'd put this on a level with "Love Will Never Do Without You" Janet.
Let me add "Cherish" Madonna.
Oh, shit. Completely forgot about that video, but high school me had to jerk it every time that video played. Kids are so spoiled today. I remember watching TV late nights, just waiting for something jerkable to pop up on MTV.

Yes to all of the above, and I'm somewhat embarassed to admit it now, but Rush Rush Paula Abdul.

I don't think that's anything to be embarrassed about. I'm sure I probably tugged one during that stupid MC Skat Kat video, whatever that was for.

The Fiona Apple video feels like we walked in just after the typical rape that occurs after an American Apparel photo shoot with that creepy guy with the 70s porn looking photographer. Sexy at the time, but in my defense, Fiona Apple is only one year younger than me.
Eh, maybe this deserves a separate thread, not in the Politics thread.

Being a bit older, that video brings back a different memory for me. I was on a first date with a girl, and I wasn't that much into it, but we happened to walk by a bar tv that was playing that video. She casually remarked, "Oh, that is such a Fuck Me video. I love it." I thought to myself, DAYUM!, and immediately became much more interested in the date.
And, yes, we did.
ETA: We dated a few times after that, but drifted apart. But, funny thing, that girl threw the party where I met the woman who later became my wife. So, there's that.

Otherwise, what? We'd learn nothing new. But what we know now is that assholes are trying everything to go after her.

I feel the need to reiterate that Joe Lieberman was the first politician that I actively despised. GamePro magazine did a story about how he blamed video games for violence in America. I was a huge Mortal Kombat fan at 8 years old and I was like "This guy is a moron."

This is probably the least surprising story ever, but still.
Nope. When dude has "Senior Airman Brian Kolfage" as the title of his Facebook page as if the rank somehow gives him the capital to know what he talks about, he's human garbage. The Article 15/Black Rifle Coffee/Drinkin' Bros shitheels are the same way.
You don't use military rank to associate with politics. So doing that as a civilian should be a massive red flag. He could've done something like "USAF veteran" or something to be less douchey. Senior Airman is a low rank and you're guaranteed to attain it if you stay in for 3 years.
Then when he mentions his war wounds as much as he does to garner sympathy to push his bullshit? Another massive red flag.
He doesn't deserve to have a close parking spot. Fucker.

Hey Johnnie - you hear (or read in this case) the term "decorated veteran" a lot in politics. What does that really mean? Or is there a specific threshold that has to be crossed before someone can be called a "decorated veteran?"
Re: Random Politics

I can actually help with this because it's a matter of journalistic style. "Decorated veteran" doesn't necessarily mean anything specific, but is meant to imply someone who has received medals for service of their country "above and beyond" what a typical soldier might receive. While it's not necessary this would be for being wounded in their service, typically that's the case.
So in short think someone who has received a Purple Heart or higher (and there are many, many decorations more "prestigious" and more rare than that.
Pruitt wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 2:41 pm
So the guy did do something impressive in Iraq then.
Still a douchebag though...
He lost three limbs, so yeah. He's a douchebag, but he earned his medals.
Shit... I didn't know that. I wouldn't have called him a"douche bag."
Nah, he's still a douchebag, but it's certainly fair to call him a "decorated veteran".

Echo what Brian said completely.
Here's my ribbon rack:
All this really tells you is that I've been in for a long time, had multiple stations of assignment (including overseas), and deployed. I mean, I get a ribbon for graduating basic training (bottom middle), so yeah.
And I know Brian posted the Wiki, but here's a non complete, Air Force specific list in order of precedence:
Note: the Bronze Star is higher in precedence than a Purple Heart. A Bronze Star is what is given to E-7s for being deployed. Like this guy. Certainly merited, of course. But he did his job in shitty conditions. Where are the medals for the people working for him? You don't see that in there...
If he did his job at home station, it would have been a Meritorious Service Medal. They are both worth 5 points when testing for the next rank.
Purple Hearts are given to those wounded in combat. You have to note that if it says Bronze Star with valor. Then that's impressive.
The awards and decorations game is also very, very political. I can go on a rant about that.
