My Mother-In-Law is a very sweet woman whose age and IQ are probably about the same.

She gets her news from "The View."

It agitates the cons, even though literally no one I know watches it. It’s worth it for that alone.

Johnnie wrote: Tue Jan 15, 2019 7:18 pm "I'm John McCain's daughter!" at the end of this clip...

I rarely loathe myself enough to click on a clip from The View, but when I do, I'm guaranteed to hear Meghan McCain reference her father in an effort to lend credibility to whatever she is arguing. And by arguing, I mean screeching like a child having a temper tantrum. It's also guaranteed to dissolve into at least 3 women yelling at the same time until Whoopie yells at them all to shut up, or very awkward segues into a commercial break. The only thing more puzzling than how this show has stayed on the air for 20 years is whether Abby Huntsman is hot or not. She is so close to being super hot, yet sometimes, I don't know what it is, something is just off. And it's not her politics or inability to reason beyond the surface of an issue.

As for the Dodge Stratus, it's a shame how rare it is to see one on the road. It really limits my ability to point and scream, "he drives a Dodge Stratus" which gets no laughs from my wife or kids, but still, must be said. Johnnie, did you used to drive a Dodge Stratus? I think someone here did.

Yes, I used to drive a Dodge Stratus. For 7 years only the water pump every went out. It was dependable.

I'd short the pound right about now.
And just got a whole lot worse

Worse yet...

In two months, the UK is scheduled to leave the EU.

They do not have a single plan in place.

Man, just read up on this POS Chuck Johnson... He runs a bunch of fake news sites that make up scandals against Dems and celebrities, and he pays people to lie and come forward with claims. He has been caught so many times, I can't believe he isn't in prison or sued into oblivion.

Boris Johnson digs into the Donald Trump playbook

The columnist John Crace is worth reading even if just for his scathing insults...

Boris Johnson is...
A man who can’t quite accept that his audience is now limited to his own reflection. In a cracked mirror. And even he can’t raise a laugh at his tired one-liners. No one cares any more. He might have been funny once but the world has moved on. All that remains for him is a howling against the dying of the light.

I know a dude with the same last name and he pronounces it “Boot-a-gig” but I know it’s not unusual to have different pronounciations of the same nane.

My only knowledge of the guy was when he was on "Wait Wait Don;t Tell Me" a year or so ago. He was funny.

And I just read that he is Gay. Nice! Hopefully, he will be a real force in the primaries.

Can you imagine a Kamala Harris/Pete Buttigirg ticket? Heads would explode!

Just call him Mayor Pete. That is what we do up here. I can't imagine him on any ticket at this point, but see it more of a play to get a cabinet position or something more substantial in the DNC.

Really nice guy. I have met him a few times. He had his reception at the ballpark after a Cubs game (SB Cubs). Although South Bend is one of a handful of blue regions in a red state, Mator Pete still takes heat for his personal life. He has been able to get past that and really improve South Bend.

That speech went on for 25 minutes. The first 14 were solid gold, then he trailed off and I got bored. He also had a 6 minute rebuttal after Cruz accused him of unfairly attacking him. After he destroys Cruz, he went off on the Republicans stupidity in keeping the government closed. I'm sure the Right will attack him for histrionics and fake outrage, but fuck, I'm sold.

Rubio admits that US support for the coup attempt in Venezuela is about oil, and not democracy or human rights:

Sadly, most high profile Democrats have also either been silent or supportive of Trump backing the coup.

Because of the human rights issues support for the current regime is toxic. Best to sit it out.

Might be time for the Dems to stop sitting it out, unless they want thousands of US troops starting a regime change war:
