Love Lindgren but he’s somewhere between in need of some legit time off to recover and already spent. Rangers might have improved even without factoring in the picks although if he plays a 3rd pair role I think he’ll be good again.

I watched your Rangers and the Leafs last night. It looked like a Sharks game, in that they looked good for a lot of the night, but made enough egregious defensive lapses to cause them to lose.

That doesn’t appear to be the full OSU band (and at a bar so not even sure if it’s part of OSU’s band) but I hope they’re getting paid in something other than proximity if it is

Is it summit hotel (?) and the failing is I dropped a punt glass 45 minutes after mocking a friend who dropped a pint glass?

Just chiming in here to say this has been a fun season as a Caps fan.

I'm not a hardcore puckhead, but when the Caps are entertaining, I love it.

I may try to make it down to DC if they make a run. But I think I've attended three Game 7s, and I'm 0-for-3. So maybe I should stay away.

Bull N Bear brewery. I was dropping something off at the car, but everyone else went in first, 8 of them at $10 each because there was a band, and my SIL and her husband walked up to the bar and rather than saying hi or asking what they wanted the bartender yelled at them to let them know they couldn’t sit in the stools at the bar because they were taken.

Dinner prior to that was Winberie’s and it was fine.

Toronto scored their 5th goal with one second left in the second period and the Pens tied it up 10 seconds into the third.

Have 39 tickets for tomorrow's tilt against the Senators. Only need 10 for group tickets. 10% savings, no fees, beanie, and for an extra $30 you dinner and open bar (beer/wine). Of course they started to raise prices as Ovi has made his run at the record.

I went to the Stadium Series game in Columbus last night. I've sat through a lot of winter-weather football games but this was hands down the coldest I've ever been at a sporting event. My face is still red from either the cold or the wind burn.

That being said it was a good experience overall. The Horseshoe is still a dump (last time I was in the stadium was 1999) and tOSU fans are still terrible people but it was a fun game to watch and 21 Pilots were good. The other thing that I found annoying was they basically tried to make it as much a tOSU football experience as much as possible. The did the skull session, player walk to the stadium, script Ohio and other accoutrements of the Buckeye game day experience. The OSU athletic band played during the stoppages. I know that is what has to be done in Columbus but would have been nice for the CBJ to do their own thing. As a friend of mine put it, could you image if the Bengals played the U Cincinnati fight song during every game? Makes little-to-no sense.

No. If you know anybody of Armenian descent, they don’t need any prompting to tell you all about the Armenian Genocide at the hands of the Turks. It was a century ago, and they still hate the Turks with a white hot passion,

Did they have any performances prior to the game? I worked on some of those years ago and was curious what they had that went untelevised (college basketball went long, so they joined just before the puck dropped).

Caps resign Chucky Lindgren in the net for 3 years. Means they have their goalie tandem both locked up for 3 more seasons. Hunter Shepard continues to be the Hershey Bears/Caps taxi option.

Yes...that was part of the "skull session." The Young Professor (I'd never heard of the guy) MC'd it in St. John arena that started around 2...the OSU Athletic Band played then O.A.R. came on and played one song for the Blue Jackets to walk across the stage before the stadium walk then played a mini-concert of about 8 songs. There was nothing inside the stadium except for the OSU band and the typical random thank you's/announcements you hear before any major sporting event.

I think Wilson's worst was worse than Rempe's, but Rempe overall has more dumb shit per minute. And Wilson was always a hockey player. Rempe isn't.

The frustrating thing about Wilson is/was that he didn't really need to pull all that shit to be a respectable top 6 forward.

Rempe obviously feels like he does, and he's probably right.

There have been a number of really tall defenders who don't consistently push their opponents' heads into the glass.

The thing is, he plays a different game in the AHL. I can't find TOI data but if you assume he plays 10 per, which is likely a low estimate, its 205 PIM in 1,140 minutes. In the NHL, its 119 in 285. He clearly thinks playing that sort of game is how he can stay up, but its not valuable to the team and it doesn't help him long term. I think I said this before, but the whole "he belongs 20 years ago" takes are completely wrong because he's not actually a good fighter. 20 years ago, every team in the league would have a guy or guys who could and would have beat the shit out of him nightly. He can exist now precisely because teams have gotten away from that type of player.

I always enjoy watching the craziness of trade deadline week. And I have to applaud Sharks’ GM Mike Grier’s commitment to the rebuild. He is trading just about every decent veteran asset on the team for high picks. Last summer he picked up Jake Walman from Detroit for “future considerations”. Walman became the top d-man on the team, but he’s 29 years old. So now, Grier flipped Walman to Edmonton for a 2026 first rounder.

It's a seller's market, that's for sure. Flames are in a playoff spot but really they should be dealing Andersson and Coleman

How about Rantannen getting traded again.

All together for Carolina - Necas, Drury, 2nd for Stankovin and 2 1st? I don’t think that is terrible value but for a team that is trying to contend it doesn’t make a ton of sense so let’s see if they flip some assets before the deadline

Yeah, I think a lot of teams would be happy getting Stankoven and two 1sts for Necas + but Carolina shouldn't be one of them. Clearly a roster downgrade unless they're going to pair those picks and make a really big splash in the next hour.

Also with the prices right now, I'm betting there's going to be a shock name that has some term that a team wants to escape. Probably not Zibanejad, but someone like Zibanejad. And probably to the Rangers because Drury is a dick.

In its 8 year history Vegas’ longest losing streak is 5 games, which has happened once.

In that same time frame they have 15 winning streaks of at least 5 games.

Sure Ovi scored an empty netter to get his magic number to 9..but
we did get a all 10 skaters in the box at the same time scrum.

Fun pictures of 5 skaters and the penalty box admin all squished in there.
