Finally worked up to having the emotional bandwidth to watch the season 2 finale of Breeders. Now up to the opinion that was probably the best show on TV last year.
Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Great show. Season one was good, but I really got into the second round. It will be interesting to see where they take it next season.tennbengal wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 5:48 pm Finally worked up to having the emotional bandwidth to watch the season 2 finale of Breeders. Re: Television (no longer temporary)
We have fallen into the routine of watching dvr'ed 'Top Chef' on Friday nights...because we are old and lame (and there's a pandemic).
That said: We are Team Shota all the way.

They've done a great job dealing with pandemic issues. And they should always do the 'chef's table' idea for Restaurant Wars. Just a better experience.

I read the book that series is based on. What an unrelentingly downbeat story.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 3:05 pm I've gone back in on 'Gomorrah'....started watching Season 2 yesterday.

When my father was a parole officer in NYC, he had a well-known mafia member as a parolee. Whenever that guy came into his office, he rearranged his desk location so the mafioso was framed in the door to his office from the hallway, and his chair was out of the line of fire and in a corner with a view to the hallway. I don't remember which guy it was, but he was assassinated.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 3:05 pm I've gone back in on 'Gomorrah'....started watching Season 2 yesterday.

Kids in the Hall have begun filming their new 8-episode run for Amazon. I'm stupid giddy about this.
How do you all get your death notices since I left?

Thinking about signing up for max to watch it and screeen a few movies for a month.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.
Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Same, although age and HD do not make a good pairing for this cast. There’s been a lot of work done on most of those faces.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
The parts where it was just the six of them on the old sets or doing the table read were so good. Very genuine and humanizing. The sit-down with Corden was just ok, and most of the featurettes and stunts were pure filler (the Lady Gaga thing was... kinda bizarre, and I think Lisa Kudrow agreed).
Re: Television (no longer temporary)
She does, but even her work is starting to show. It looks like Kudrow is the only one who hasn’t been obviously retouched.

The first question I had for my wife: Did Schwimmer color and style his hair as Ross for this special, or has he just been living with Ross hair for the last 17 years?
Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Publicists reporting that Matthew Perry had been through dental surgery that day and THAT is why he was slurring some words and kind of out of it.

He was slurring words on The Good Fight so no...
I assume he had a stroke at some point; possible related to his past drug abuse which is really nothing to be especially ashamed of, but that’s Hollywood.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Just watched all 7 episodes because it seems like a bunch of podcasts I listen to kept mentioning it. And I figured why not. I like a good murder mystery. Very good overall. British people pulling off that accent was excellent. The story's twists were great. It could've been tighter storytelling at times, but I recommend it.
But maybe I missed it...is the ice cream still in the bread box?

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Strong start. Hopefully we continue to get a combination of the weirdness of WandaVision and the lead-duo chemistry of Falcon/Winter Soldier AND get a better-told story than the latter at least. Bonus points if something unexpected and of lasting consequence can happen by the end of it all.
