The Donskoi thing definitely feels like something I'd do with a mid-20s player I expect to improve or think is underappreciated. I'm still mad about the JT Miller trade and he was a just-barely 20 goals per 82 player on a high scoring team after leaving.

I love both of my team's JT Miller trades.

Wyshynski with a pretty good story in ESPN on the Sharks/Golden Knights rivalry that includes some good color from Wednesday's game. As usual (for Vegas), it was pretty good-natured in the stands.

Allan Walsh, the agent representing Roman Polak, wasn’t impressed at all with the callous comment by Jack Edwards.

Patrick Marleau is back with the Sharks, so I guess that's an idea to jumpstart their offense.

Not sure that Sid has had many goals easier than the one the Jets just allowed.

(and the Jets are now up and the other thing wouldn’t have happened if you had cleared your throat over the weekend)

I mean no offense but this is more or less the way everyone outside of Calgary saw that trade going down.

Yup but I'm fine with that. He was doing nothing here and cant be put on the 3rd or 4th line. I like Lucic's toughness so far.

I think no greater honor can be bestowed on the VGK/SJS rivalry than both teams playing like ass in the ensuing games after the home and home. It took me that second Boston goal to remember that this is a regular season game in October and it doesn’t really matter.

I mean we’re pretty jaded sporting wise at this point but if you can still get up for a regular season game it means something.

Tough times for the Sharks.

But on a more upbeat note, James Neal is on pace to score 164 goals this season for Edmonton.

You could probably get that novel cranked out if you kick all the Boston teams out of your kitchen.

Bruins are probably the one Boston team I have no beef with. They're just a really good team. It's bullshit that the Bruins, Leafs and Lightning are all in the same division and they're probably the three best teams in the NHL.

Sharks finally win a game behind 40 year-old Patty Marleau’s two goals in his first game back. What fun.

James Neal only scored once last night so he’s down to a 143 goal pace for the season.

Presumably their fans are less whiny babies about Taylor Swift banners, but that's just my speculation based on experience with Kings fans.

The Clippers will cover that banner, as well... along with the Lakers banners, which they have been covering for years.

Valentin Zykov suspended for PED use, McPhee (guess we can't call him GMGM any more) more or less threw him under the bus during the presser, in stark contrast to how they treated the response to the Schmidt suspension. Guessing he's not coming back on the roster after the suspension is over.

Think the better question is how impotent is the NHL testing program when the player has been taking the banned substance for four years, during which time he's played for three teams?

File under: random nonsense.

The two highest shot totals in a regular season game in VGK history was 54 today at home against Ottawa and 53 last season at home against Ottawa. Both games ended on walkoff goals by Jonathan Marchessault (in OT last year and in SO tonight).
