So Scottie...it seems pertinent to ask...how is you making jokes in a thread about a bunch of people dying different than Ryan and Mr D making jokes in a thread about a few people dying?

The Westboro Baptist Church made a website called "God Hates Oklahoma." It was hacked and dealt with beautifully.

Me neither. At first I thought brian was taking a shot at you, but that didn't make sense (in this context at least!). So he must have been taking a shot at someone else, but I'm not sure who, and in the end I think brian just sort of insulted Jerloma by suggesting he would do someone else's bidding.

Definitely not freshwater. Cuntfishes are so out of place when it comes to all things Oklahoma.

Unless I'm mistaken, Brian called out BFJ for his inability to let go of his hatred of all things German, BFJ called out Brian using the same language.

Yeah, anyway. Anyone watching this? Harrowing. CNN (Cooper) has decent coverage. Apparently the Oklahoma City Barons (Edmonton's farm team) had a full house, about 15,000, for a Western Conference Final (AHL) game. Everyone had to be evacuated. What a nightmare that must have been.

The dudes in the traffic helicopters covering this are completely insane.

How uncommon is it for tornadoes to hit the same small city or town, Moore in this case, twice in such a short time period? Or is it uncommon?

It's because of those lax tornado control laws

And honestly, in tornado alley, it's not like a blue moon.

That would explain their infrequency in Canada.

I meant that as a serious question, though. Isn't "Tornado Alley" gigantic? At least a quarter the size of the continental States? I'll admit up front that I know very little about them. I was wondering what would cause multiple tornadoes in the same area. Are there certain land formations or terrain characteristics that would make an area more particularly prone to a tornado developing?

On a very basic level, it's a combination of warm spring days, warm Gulf of Mexico moisture and the cooler upper air that hasn't had a chance to heat up yet (That's why they really don't happen in the summer except way up north.)

So that's why they happen where they do -- and why Oklahoma can tend to be in the bullseye. I think it was near 90 (with heat indeces above that) yesterday.

Amateur stormchasers have been causing traffic problems, apparently. This video is interesting because you can see other vehicles trying to get out of Dodge.

Watch your volume on that. One kid starts yelling around 1:15.

I don't know much about tornadoes, but I do know how hurricanes form:
