Come on, boche; the boy is outta gas. As outta gas as that shit slider he spun up there to Phillips, who retired it to the seats.

Four straight hard hit balls, for two runs.

Lead-off walk, Blanco. Ball four not close.

There is your weird play to preserve the no-no. Posey nubbed what would've likely been an infield hit, except Blanco ran into an out between second and third, turning it into a fielder's choice.

The jersey stained pink by the red Gatorade needs to go to the hall.

One of the Reds' PR guys said they collected his uniform, authenticated it and will send it to the HOF. I really hope they leave the pink stains in the uniform.

It's a modest major league pitcher who delivers pizza on the side. And apparently he's generous too.

Coincidentally, this afternoon I expect Justin Verlander to show up to finish cutting my lawn.

You almost gotta feel bad for the Indians. Every time they run up against a real baseball team they shit the bed.

Of course on the bright side the Indians almost drew a crowd of 30,000. About 10,000 of them were Tigers fans, but that's a start at least.

The comparison of Machado's play with that of Brooks Robinson in the 1970 World Series is a terrific use of video. Of course us old timers who can't let go of the past will notice that Machado actually dropped the ball, which is why his throw was so tough.

I wonder if this is going to be known as the Trout - Harper - Machado Era. Perhaps Puig as well. How many times have position players with this kind of talent all arrived at once? Of course, time will have to tell. Most likely not all four will make the Hall. But it won't surprise me if two do.

It's a Rick Reilly smackdown! (Those are always fun.)

One other note -- thanks to a quirk in the schedule, the Tigers have yet to face the White Sox. (First game is tonight). So, 19 of their last 74 games (more than 25 percent) are against them.

Watching the Reds makes me ready for football season.

I never imagined that the injury to Ludwick, in game one, would be so costly.

Neither Robinson, nor Cosart, are #2 hitters, and Votto has not been clutch.

/sigh/

Watching a team that is in the 4 back in their division and in an easy lead for the wild card, and which has been good for years now, makes you yearn for the damn Bengals?
