Wait...how am I supposed to pronounce Berlin? Is it the second syllable that's off? Inverted emphasis?

Lebanin, Lank-a-stir and Ver-sales are all on kentucky's list.
Billy Joel pronounced it BURR-lin. I think that makes it the standard pronunciation.

*East Chernobyl. (Pronounced "sher-no-BEEL" because Ohio)
Making a funny annihilated town with thousands of dead residents joke deserves recognition.

(I LOL'd)
People forget how bad North Chernobyl had it. Same fate as North Orange. Not even on the map anymore.
Based on the chemicals that I understand were involved, I think a better analogy is to the parts of Belgium and France that were closed down after WW1, some for generations (a few places are still technically closed today).

Yeah, if you're wondering why two of the most densely populated and modern areas of Europe (Benelux and Paris) are not more connected, that's part of why. Some of the quotes on that page are incredible, like this:
Some areas where 99% of all plants still die remain off limits

Keep Mayor Pete in your thoughts. Chemical poisoning, while bad, is nothing compared to the slim possibility this “poisons” his political career.

From the CDC website:
Exposure to nitric acid can cause irritation to the eyes, skin, and mucous membrane; it can also cause delayed pulmonary edema, pneumonitis, bronchitis, and dental erosion. Nitric acid is highly corrosive. Workers may be harmed from exposure to nitric acid. The level of exposure depends upon the dose, duration, and work being done.

This video had been sitting in my 'Watch Later' queue for a little too long, but I finally watched it.

I had no idea that this entire charade was started by an Army Major General getting in the dude's face. Like, holy shit.

I had heard about the journalist getting arrested, but not what started it and figured "cops being cops," so I didn't read further. I'm dumbfounded by it.

And as of now he's still in his position with no charges having been filled against him.
